Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread

Midfield looked porous but we made yards out wide on the few occasions the ball got there without a stupid turnover.

Elsewhere defence was much improved. I thought they lost composure a bit when they were camped on the line.

Lineouts gash.

Better up front from us, usual defensive dogshit out wide and stupid errors. 1/3 so far.

Balvenie is quite "Irish" in style, IMO, a great drop.

Ha, we've got Irish defending the Scotch now. Good stuff.

Hopefully now his pal Taylor is away we have a few coaches that might be willing to challenge him and add something fresh. Yeah, all this Finngate malarky aside, I want to see an improved defensive effort. If I see that, even if we lose 4 out of the 5, I'll be happy. Well, happier. Here's hoping it...

So it seems like the right course of action given what we know. The real test is how the situation is managed from here on. We simply can't afford to let one of the world's most creative players languish. Primadonnas abound in elite sports or indeed elite anything. The key is how you manage them.

This is the lowest rated comment on the story on the BBC website At least on the flip, Toonie will be able to get Pete Horne back in the 23 Made I larf. There was something very wrong about Toony's reaction when Russell ran in that interception against England. On that basis alone, I'm blaming him.

If Scotland get the right players on the pitch I think it can be close (but likely still lose). For me the right players are: Dell Brown (wouldn't be unhappy to see McInally) Nel Cummings (Not sure on Skinner at the moment) Gray Richie Watson Bradbury Horne (can accept Price) Russell Graham Scott (...

Obviously sans Gatland the Welsh will be dire but I expect that to be our worst performance.
