Re: The Waratahs

The main beef I have with the Tahs has more to do with those on the fringes, although some players deserve a pasting. 1. The management that have pampered these guys for years. 2. The Sydney media that year in, year out bore us in January with the 10 reasons why this years Waratahs are different to...

Yep. How good are they. What's so funny about it? They've been shit for a long time. In fact they've only been good in about 5 of the last 28 years. Mate…. 2. Sa’a Fainga’a was a scrumming liability. Tom Horton has him covered. I don’t think he’d make the bench of many SR teams. 4. Simmons would be behind 10+ current locks. 6. Re: Waratahs v Rebels

This is how far Oz rugby has fallen.

Previously, the 10s
Ella
Lynagh
Larkham
Cooper

Throw in Knox, Howard, Kafer, Flatley, Giteau, Foley, Beale.
Lesser extent - Toomua, Barnes, Lilo etc

Now, Gordon, Donaldson, Lynagh, Lolesio, Edmed.

It's such a drop.

Were you the one saying you hadn’t seen a better defending flyhalf?
No, you just made that shit up. I said he's one of the best tackling flyhalves I've seen. I didn't say he was better than Wilkinson.
But you don't pick 10s on theur defence

Re: Waratahs v Rebels

The question is, how does a player like Gordon make it to test level with shit kicking? I've watched junior 10s comfortably have the ball on a string at 50m+ distance.

I think they've picked him on his running game and he probably outgunned his opponents through sheer strength and power.

They don't need to beat teams. There are enough SR teams out there capable of self destruction in a game. Rebels only need to keep their nerve.

You can of course improve. Cooper become a much better player with experience. Cooper is a natural 10 and he improved but he had the essential skills already. I think Gordon's inaccuracies comes from the fact he's at his limit distance wise. It's not a good weakness to have as a 10. Cooper early in...
