Re: The Australian Politics Thread
I yelled abuse at some UAP guys on the weekend walking around my neighbourhood. Not gonna lie, felt really good to do it. I try and be polite to all the volunteers, I think it's great that they give up their time for political purposes, even if they are misguided anti-vaxxers. I got caught up in th...

Things to do in Japan
I've got some time in Japan later this year, near Fukuoka, what's some stuff that is good to do around that area?
I like whisky if there are any around there.

https://imgur.com/2RKHN6f After getting the rower in September was pretty happy with my numbers for my first "season" on the concept2 logbook. December and January had a mix of not giving a fudge about training and covid in there, but reckon I could have definitely gone over the 1,000,000 for the s...

Re: Head scratcher - penalty against own teamate
Can't pre-latch before a tackle is made now. You can, as long as it's a 1 person latch and the latcher doesn't kill the ball by flopping on top of the ball carrier/ Am I right in saying that as long as the ball-carrier remains on his feet, he can move forward under a combination of his own leg driv...

Re: Head scratcher - penalty against own teamate
Would it have been different had Marler's teammate bound onto Marler and driven him forward? I would argue that it would have been different as he would not have caused an acceleration in the speed at which Marler came into contact with the tackler, thus no penalty against anyone in Marler's team. ...

Re: Head scratcher - penalty against own teamate
I get where he is coming from, the speed into the tackler from Marler was all from the push and the tackler didn't have time to adjust. I think this is one of the things WR has said that should be taken into consideration as I think there was one in the Pro14 as well.

Re: Super Rugby Pacific: Rebels vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 24th April
They manage to hold the NRL Magic Round in Brisbane every year, with 8 games played at the same stadium across the same weekend. You sure the pitch would hold up to 6 games of big scrums on top of it in 3 days? I'm not sure at all. Unlike Dan54 I'm not pretending to be an expert on the grass struct...

Really, I don’t think so, do you think the pitch would Stand up to 7 games? No you right, Suncorp wouldn't work. nowhere for players to even do warm ups etc while first game being played etc. They manage to hold the NRL Magic Round in Brisbane every year, with 8 games played at the same stadium acr...

Re: Chiefs vs Tahs - Fri 2204
Have I got this wrong or should the Tarts only have 14 players on the park as it's their fault the scrums are uncontested Both hookers went off for HIAs and failed, so therefore they don't need to drop a player. If it were any other injury then they would have to, but for head injuries it's differe...

The ref is awful. "No hands" then tells them they drop it when they turned it over, fairly. I know her personally and suspect it’s a bit too soon for her at this level. WR love to promote former top tier players. A better Canadian would be the woman who’s been doing NZ provincial for years. She and...

Do Aussie commentators always moan about refereeing decisions or the Laws so much? Just saw the yellow for the knock on, and that's a nailed-on card all day. It is, but it shouldn't be. Instant yellow for a knock down is a stupid stupid law. FFS it's not an instant YC for a knock on. It's a YC for ...

Right lads, how the actual feck do you marry the opposing concepts of increasing cardio intensity/duration (depending on the day) and not eating like a horse? I'm going from a steady 5 hours a week (maybe an hour of which is intense) to 8+ hours (2 hours of which will be more intense). 75% road bik...

On the one hand, making fun of someone's wife's alopecia seems a bit grim...on the other, he is a comedian and he's paid to make jokes. I fear that someone will dredge up Will Smith making fun of someone's wife/sister/mother from way back when to show what a hypocrite he is etc. And there it is: ht...

Did a baseline 30R20 at the weekend. Max distance capped at 20 SPM. Got 7313 but to be honest I was holding steady for 27 minutes, then tried to speed up for the last 3. Reckon I could have gone a bit faster overall, but a nice little baseline to have. I think I am going to turn Tuesdays into my "t...

Well day 2 of dealing with covid. Missus and I both have it. None of the kids yet. We are trying everything to avoid passing it on to them. We are hiding in our room, masks on whenever we leave the room, disinfectant every time we touch anything. Symptoms at this stage are like a head cold. I think...

Using Murali's "action" (legal or otherwise) would be absolutely no use for bowling big ripping leggies. Completely different wrist, finger and arm position. Ohh look Daniel Vettori is here! Always wanted to be able to spin the ball like Warne, but alas I was neither talented enough or driven enough.
