If you've a good job you will have, or at least can have, private health insurance. Some would argue you should have. I hear this all the time and I hate to break it to you but private health insurance makes zero difference if you are acutely unwell you will be triaged in A&E like everyone else I w...

If you've a good job you will have, or at least can have, private health insurance. Some would argue you should have. But does that help you in an emergency? How about you start by explaining how the Irish government contributing would lead to tolls (unless it was a condition at your end). Who said it would lead to tolls in NI? I said you guys have to put up tolls in the ROI to pay for major transport infrastructure. Was I wrong? Tolls are usual on all ...

Scotland and wales (as well as regions in England) also receive more from the treasury than they give. It’s the UK treasury after all. The also contribute significantly more to the coffers than you scroungers do. I’m talking about per head, but also, anyone with a brain cell would realise Scotland ...

That’s what was on the table up until today. big as the difference between £400 million and £800 million. Better pay your taxes Maddog and give it to us. But we haven’t a pot to piss in. Neither you do, you owe my country billions upon billions of ££££ that you got as an emergency to help you stay ...

I won't even go into music. Jesus that's f**king atrocious. You need someone strong on the Arts and Sport in charge. Not a Minister for Fun and Games. That's bullshit Celtic Tiger phraseology. I haven’t seen this much charisma and natural charm since Obama in 08. You’re looking at a future Taoiseach folks. https://www.thejournal.ie/holly-cairns-speech-national-conference-social-democrats-6302676-Feb2024/ You think obama had natural charm? He always reminds me of Keanu Reeves in dracula.

Fellas, years ago I asked some TDs about something, self-employment while on social welfare. Not unemployment benefit or whatever it's called, but anything that means you can't work a "proper" job, but could make some money and find some holistic benefit in selling jam in a market, or making beard ...

It is only a slim recession, although unless you're growing by 2-3% you're starting to take on water. And actually it's worse than a minor negative figure because inflation is running so high. It would seem with the Tories having taken on the mantle of fudge businesses it's one of the few pledges t...

Our much maligned health system actually gives pretty good outcomes overall. ER/A&E or whatever its called these days needs sorting but it can be done.
The main problem such as it is in the system is rent seeking and sectorial parochialism. We need to send in some trust buster types with big guns.
