Re: The OFFICIAL English and European Football (soccer) thre

Excellent, Ozil now officially done. Don't know what Man U are playing at. Getting late in the day now. Their midfield is massively underwhelming. Combine that with losing Fergie's influence and retaining the title looks a long way away.

Into the last hour of the window and this Ozil deal still not announced officially. Has been a 'done deal' since early afternoon.

Irish have lost Tom Homer for sometime, so they will have a kicking problem http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/injury-blow-london-irish-homer-5798143 That really could be curtains for Irish if he is out for a large part of the season, who else do they have who could be a consistent goalk...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

I saw that :D. My only issue is I think I saw one big hit in defence, and a lot of arms wrapped and flop down on top of them. My big issue with 'big hit' guys is they tend to miss more than the average player as it doesn't allow for adjustment when the would-be recipient sees it coming and simply s...

Quins looking good here. Interesting to compare this year's Irish line up to the squad that won last year: 1. Alex Gray; 2. Joe Ansbro; 3. Jonathan Joseph; 4. Tom Homer; 5. Topsy Ojo; 6. Marland Yarde; 7. Gerard Ellis; 8. Darren Allinson; 9. Jamie Gibson; 10. Jack Moates; 11. Conor Gaston; 12. Shaun...

If Bath aren't starting Joseph in every game until proven incompetent, I will find them, and I will kill them. Would be outrageous usage of such a player. I never why we up here are so down on 7s as a learning tool. No, it doesn't teach you the full game, but it does teach you some useful parts of ...

Re: The Official PR Betting Thread

A few bets I put on today that I think are value: Brumbies ht - Chiefs ft @ 6/1 with Betfred. Brumbies are the best starters in the league, Chiefs are the best in the second half, add in the factor of possible travelling fatigue for Brumbies and this seems a good bet. Gloucester to win JP Morgan 7'...

Will be an interesting start to the year. Is Fraser going to be fit for the start of the season?

Got a feeling the it will be Fraser that kicks on faster, although I rate both.

Same thread red rebel. Good effort that.

Would have loved him back at LI to partner Skivs, but financially it was always unlikely to happen. Hope it goes well for him at Quins. All round nice guy, and a solid signing for them.

Likely backline according to the Mail + Lancaster for the match this weekend: 15 Foden 14 May 13 JJ/Burrell 12 Eastmond 11 Strettle 10 Myler 9 Dickson The 3rd string effectively. Foden and Dickson the only ones relatively competing for a chance in the EPS it seems. Strettle is currently in the EPS ...

i still don't see the logic in leaving out (arguably) the form 13 in the aviva this season for somebody who can barely get a start for their club The form 13 in the AP? Hmm. Daly's played some 13 and does more. I'd even pick Eastmond ahead of him, at least he has a passing game of sorts. Tuilagi is...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

JM pretty much covered it: hasn't done enough, consistently, to earn a spot in my opinion. I'd rather us go with someone like JJ at 13 outside 36 and Burns. I prefer JJ's skillset at 13 over a player like Tomkins. JJ has looked pretty ordinary since returning from injury. Kept out of the side by Ar...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Should he be? He's still a shadow of the player we know. I think he's still better than Goode, but that could be my bias. With all these new players winning first caps there needs to be one or two old heads to bookend them, Foden is one of the most-capped current England backline players in content...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

That's a new one on me. Has really struggled to make any impact at 8 on the rare occasion that he has got on the pitch this season. But maybe that's not that surprising playing as a lightweight 8 behind a beaten pack. Not sure whether proposing a switch to 13 is an enlightened move or a desperate on...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Little galling to see so many go to one club, but that's pro sport for you. Would rather have players that actually want to be there. Irish and Sale this season are proof that you can have a good looking team on paper, that doesn't work on the pitch.

No, there were only 3 of them in the lead group. Nobody went down, Stybar seemed to clip a spectator's foot or possibly a camera and nearly lost it but kept it upright. Then trying to get back with Canc and Vanmarcke he nearly lost it again on a corner. There were four in the lead group just before...

Stolen from another board, but if anyone fancies a shot to nothing, Aulika is 19/1 with PaddyPower to score a try at any time tomorrow. Par for a tight head, but he also happens to be LI's top try scorer this season. http://www.paddypower.com/bet/rugby-union/guinness-prem-regular?ev_oc_grp_ids=25001...

Good boxing bout there, shame about the comedy reffing at the end. Called a stoppage at the end after the ref hadn't heard the bell so let the American knock him down again with zero on the clock.
