Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Will Harrison has played about 36 minutes of rugby in the past two years, and he is now our future saviour? We’ve lots of promising youngsters. Until then, it’s probably Lolesio to man the holds.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
:uhoh: Who are the other ‘big islanders’ that you’re considering? Uru and Leota were the two I was thinking of. Although Uru is in a position where we have plenty of depth. But I think big blokes with islander heritage is a pretty safe bet across all 15 positions. Cool. I’m not quite sure why it’s ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
:o Towny is probably correct this time. I'd say Frost, Swain, Neville and maybe LSL are in front of him. I did actually edit my "reserves" post to change Swain to Frost, Swain and Neville before reading your post. LSL is one of the big islander piggy reserves I had in mind, when I wrote that line a...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
On a separate note, could there be a JOC 3.0? I admit it is really unlikely, but the two positions we are really weak at are 2 and 12, and he can play 12. I think he returns next week? He's old, but who knows, maybe he will be the JOC that won Super Rugby AU during COVID. But probably not.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Ryan Smith? I reckon there’s at least half a dozen in front of him. I know fudge all about locks. So I'm just picking names out of a hat. But since you disagree, I'd say he is almost locked in. :o Towny is probably correct this time. I'd say Frost, Swain, Neville and maybe LSL are in front of him. ...

I waited till the end of the round, but I don't think it changed my team: 1) Bell 2) Faessler 3) AAA 4) Holloway 5) Ruan Smith 6) Valetini or Wright 7) McReight or Wright 8. Wilson or Valetini 9) Tate 10) Lolesio 11) Toolie 12) Kerevi, Gordon or JOC 2.0 (Unfortunately it will be either Foketi or Pa...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Reserves
Tupou
Uelesi (if he can throw straight for a second game in a row) or more likely Porecki.
Frost or Swain, or maybe Neville. A Brumby.
Whichever reds back 3 wasn't selected.
Another piggie. Probably a big one, preferably with Islander heritage.
White
Gordon or Donaldson
Petiaia

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Toole locked in for 11, especially if Wright is at 15, just for their combination. Way ahead of Marky on form so far, Wilson probably 8. If not thenWright at 6. Valetini’s playing one of either 6 or 8, maybe more likely 6. 10 and 12 the hardest to pick, and I don’t think we’ll have any idea until th...

I’m sure it varies over the years, and is hugely influenced by large countries like China, India and a Brazi...

I don’t know that anyone who didn’t own a banjo had any excitement about “rocket” Rod Davies. Actually I don’t think anyone who didn’t play banjo even called him rocket. No real comparison to”lightening” Cory Toole.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
According to Wikipedia, Jordie Barret is also 6’4”. That’s basketball tall. I think it is fair to say most players heights are rounded upwards with one inch added. That's like point guard tall at best. Best Australian player ever was Phil Smyth. And he was 6’1”. And yes he did play guard. I had to ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Charlie Cale doesn’t look particularly tall. Maybe the same height as Jordie. So I’d guess 6’1 or 6’2. Still a hell of a future Wallaby. That's a crazy take. He doesnt look much shorter than the locks. I did say same height as Jordie. I suspect Jordies height does actually round up to 6’3 although ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
I quite like it. My favourite part is the crossed ice hockey sticks to represent the icy cold, hard reality we face as wallabies supporters, with the potential of being slammed in the face with a solid puck at any time. I’m surprised nobody (not in the John Eales sense) has commented on this. I’m a...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Force have just announced the signing of Sam Carter. Assume its for injury cover. He is 34, but we are pretty short of locks at the moment, think he could make a go of it? Are any of your locks injured? They were great this weekend. At best Sam Carter could start on the bench, but I can’t really ev...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
In my humble opinion, IMHO, Toole should be the first picked Wallaby. He is a lot like my previous favourite player ever, Shane Williams. Graham Henry refused to pick williams for Wales because he was too small to tackle players like Lomu coming at him. I think it was Gatlands predecessor and then ...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Toole deserves a shot. Might be great. Might be Rod Davies Mk. 2. The Wales games seem as good a time as any. Hes worth 5-15 points a game. These aren't mugs he's running around either. His defence seems better this year too. If kellaway and Nawaqanitawase are the other members of the back three, t...

Lots of movement in the respective Power Rankings this week. Nic White and Donaldson are probably leading the way at 9 and 10. And Tom Horton is a potential bolter. Meanwhile, losers include Liam Wright, Mongo, Jock Campbell, Ryan Smith, Tate and Vunivalu. I’m not sure Ryan Smith and Tate should be...
