Re: The Offical GAA Thread

Good times are back! There's an All Ireland for sure in this squad. Might not be this year, but that was a real character building exercise yesterday.

Yeah I cant imagine there would be a great scramble to go after NPHET. Their goal was to keep down deaths and hospital occupancy and that's what they have done. The opposition certainly wont go after them.

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby

I firmly believe that nothing good is going to come out of this. When it is all done and dusted everyone will just go back to normal. It will be forgotten about. (once the media start to focus on something else) It might have been good for the work from home brigade but otherwise i dont see anythin...

Thanks, dad. Means a lot. Lots of international tourists in the southwest. I can't understand how businesses down there coped over the last 16 months. Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby

Why are the NI vaccine numbers so poor in comparison to the rest of the UK? They are on 82% vs. 88% in England, and I suspect a couple of percent of that is southerners heading north to get one. Higher % of fundie god botherers perhaps. But also probably has a lot to do with the "roguish" nature of...

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby

Why isn’t Varadkar under pressure? I couldn’t have been more wrong about his electability, FG have polled well on occasion but not done it at the ballot box. Martin should be well gone but wants to hang on so he can get his visit to the White House. Conroy not getting her expenses back…how can the ...

Absolutely. I almost voted for her myself and only voted for Geoghegan because he was FG. He turned out to be very weak. O'Connell would have got the mummies out and obviously the da's. No one was going to get excited enough about Geoghegan to leave their summer homes in Wexford to come back up and ...

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby

I think FG losing this seat to labour is good. Time to get the finger out before the general election and stop pissing off the youth. Only positive spin that can be put on it. Might be a kick in the nuts for them. Geoghan was obviously a bad choice from day 1. I think you need a big personality for...

There's probably a huge trade-off between being an astute coach who never played at a high level and being a former world class player with limited coaching skills. You would need a mix of both in the training staff I'd imagine.

France would have been favourites to beat us , but they’re not amongst the elite of the game . SA, Fiji , NZ , Aus, UK and US would the leading teams at the Olympics I’d say . Not sure we’ve ever beaten Fiji or NZ ? We beat NZ in 1973. No idea if we've ever met Fiji. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1...

I put my money on the Netherlands much to the guffaws of my friends so I was happy to see them play well.

They probably wont go all the way as they clearly need 10 chances to score one and they wont have that luxury against better organized teams
