Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
And the first AB #8 who I remember seeing play is Murray Mexted. :D Me too, not sure I'd have Read over him either but I was only thinking of Zinny and Buck. * Which, before the Cantabs and Towny have a hissy fit doesn't mean I think Read is shit ... I've got Zinzan at #2 on my list, and I was a bi...

Re: Ranking the BEST rugby tries of all time!
Awesome!!! Was a great day. Is that you guys in camera shot just as he scores? One of the earliest PR cabals? Considering I was 10. Uncle FB didn’t invite me to his scarfie party. I'm not sure if I was with any true Otago scarfies, one of my mates and I went to every test in NZ that year so were zi...

Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
Yep. Just for the record, it wasn't me criticising Read at the time. He'll go down as the best AB #8 that I've seen in my lifetime. it happens in most sports though. Boxing is terrible for it. A great fighter gets humbled before retiring and some fans only remember them for their last fight. Ehoa, ...

Re: Crusaders vs Brumbies Thread
Not surprised by the YC, but is that a legitimate penalty try? Brumbie attacker wasn't even holding his hands to look to catch the ball? I was initially thinking YC and penalty which the Brumbies would have likely kicked and won, but am I incorrect and that any cardable offence in the ingoal is now...

Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
Are you saying the Hurricanes don’r represent the people of Wellingtonia? Technically the Canes are supposed to represent my province yet I'm arguing against fluffers from the Canes (and AC who would argue with me if I claimed the sky was blue) and Sam Cane is from BoP which is my mortal enemy prov...

Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
That's also the opinion of AB coaches who consistently selected him as the back up to the greatest modern AB and then the starting 7 once he retired. You and your Canes mates on this thread can have a different opinion. I'm not arguing that Ian Foster didn't favour Sam Cane. That's kind of the whol...

Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
Savea was never a better 7, this a myth brewed up on rugby forums. Yes, Savea is a greater rugby player but that comes from his status as a super sub for half of his career and as a free ranging 8 in the second half. He started 13 tests as a 7. hahaha, You saying it doesn't make that in anyway true...

Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
He wasn't a mug, he just wasn't the best in his position for most of his career. First McCaw and later Savea were better players. He was also awesome against the Irish last year which I give him credit for, because it was pretty nice to silence that arrogant lot who barely gave the AB's a glance on...

Re: Sam Cane - Goooooooooooooone (for good)
For my 2 cents Some pretty harsh assessments of Cane here. You don’t get 95 AB caps by being a mug Thomas the Flank Engine (thanks Bungle) was/is indeed a very good player. He wasn't a mug, he just wasn't the best in his position for most of his career. First McCaw and later Savea were better playe...

He deleted most of them after the "exposé". Ah right. I think the Spinoff did an article on his weird Soc Med habits. Lots of mentions on this thread, Thomas posts a link to a screen shot of Savea’s Twitter from memory, but it no longer exists. https://forum.planetrugby.com/viewtopic.php?...

I've personally doubted Ardie's mental capacity ever since I saw his Andrew Tate retweets. Can you link to them? Not that I'm disbelieving but I never saw them at the time. Also, we could go the whole hog and have Reece and Ardie co-captains. I do recall Bungle shared the links at the time. Sadly I...

I think I wouldn't be fussed with quite a few in a number of positions and who ever they go with. On the flip side though, there are 3 people that should be nowhere near the AB team. - Havilli - Bower - Blackadder. I'd like to see an ABs squad made up predominantly of Blues, Canes and Chiefs player...

Barrett injured. Have we had a game this season where we haven't lost a player to injury in the week leading up to match day? Rob Penney needs to go, not because he's a good or a bad coach, but because he's the unluckiest coach in the history of pro-Rugby. I feel sorry for him that he's cursed, but...

Anyone who take those books seriously and honestly must be homophobic. I know I'm getting off topic here and ranting on a pet peeve, but this is the failure of "religious moderatism": it's just not honest about what the religion teaches.
