I think Australian Rugby could go solo and develop a wholly domestic, 2nd tier comp. But it would take some courage, and the ARU and stakeholders would need to be prepared to wear some short term pain for long term gain. The average Melbournite literally doesn't know there are two codes of rugby.

Whilst Perth is AFL mad, Rugby has the chance to cement itself as the clear #2 code. Lots of grassroots support, looking healthier financialy, and finally playing good footy.

Wade's perfect as a Lions dirt tracker to be fair. Kiwi wingers are usually quick rather than blazing and although you can plan for it, sheer pace can alwas suprise you.

You wouldn't want him starting against NZ in any way shape or form. Basset would be a better pick to start than Wade.
