banning powermeters would have no effect at all. any rider worth his salt will have a very keen understanding of his threshold. I train with a pm. In a road race you don't even look at the data. Great ride Seez, was looking at your Strava file yesterday, your NP is impressive. Thanks for the pointer, just done a little digging after you posted this and found that Tejvan (one of the top amateur TTers over here) knocked out a 100 mile TT in 3:34 (28 mph) at 262W: http://cyclinguphill.com/100...

Re: The official cycling thread

the NP calculation doesn't let the freewheeling parts cancel out the hard bits. This depends on how you setup your Garmin, if you select "Include Zeros" under power meter settings, then you get a lower but more accurate Normalized Power. This is how you should have it setup, unfortunately the Garmi...

Well, I did the SDW ride yesterday. Hardest thing I've ever done. Just seemed to go on forever - the miles on the Garmin just ticked by so slowly, and very few of them seemed to come easily. Constant hard work with draggy surfaces, gates, stones, bumps, sketchy descents etc etc. Nothing unusual her...
