Re: Get rid of bonus points.

Whatever about BPs skewing the final table, I have never understood how the number of wins has been made completely irrelevant. Had Scotland and Italy finished on equal points it's decided by points difference, then tries scored, then nothing at all. Italy could have won all three of their games to...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

I'd say Murray's done now. That has to be it. Was being polite. Argument's about Casey and any prospective SH we have hopes for. Need to blood them, simple as. Some won't work out and will lose us games. Also should be said that JGP is probably a top 3-5 scrum half in the world currently and Casey ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

:? We were playing for a championship. You play your first choice team in that game every time. That makes no sense at all. We should have moved on from that limited mindset. So it's better to play a slightly better player who is knackered than one who is rested and can give 100%? If we rotated mor...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Gatland first took the Wales job 17 years ago. He does have the flexibility of a few championships to his name, which probably earns him a bit more benefit-of-the-doubt than Toonie. I don't know that it was ever his role, but you have to ask what he did to improve the youth structures, etc. Sure it...

Tbf, if the Scots regathered and set off on a gallop he probably would've blown up.

As it was they had to exit and give us the lineout in exactly the same position. But yeah, some level of clairvoyance on show.

This has the feel of the 2010 Croke Park game The result maybe, but not how it played out.
