Re: 2023 Rugby World Cup Final Match Thread - NZ Vs South Africa

It was interesting that despite early success, we stopped competing on SA's throws in the last 20 minutes. I was yelling at the TV for them to compete. BBBR went off. It's not as if Sam W is poor in that area. It was very frustrating that we stopped competing near or in their half. I can only think...

Re: Okay, so the ABs lost to the Boks twice in a RWC final

Isn't Jens a proud Zimbabwean? Why do Zimbabweans always ride off South Africa's coattails? Because we can? Or, it might be because over the years a number of Zimbabweans have contributed so much to the Springboks, it’s a bit like you being an Australian supporting the All Blacks I can’t believe yo...

7-1 - did it work?

Talk in the Stan sports studio about the 7-1 working - but did it actually make a difference? Faf was getting ragged at the end and it seem that SA had 15 forwards to get marginal gain over 12 AB forward - at the cost of a the most emancipated backline in history. For me 7-1 is stupid, especially co...

Sam Cane

Feel for him hugely - been a tough 18 months.

Unfortunately with that tackle all I could think of was the head on head vs Ireland (that arguably kicked off the focus on head knocks).

He hasn’t learnt enough since then which is a big shame.

No way. Far too many shitty pool games. Six pools is great. More knockout games and shortens the World Cup by a few merciful weeks. It also brings great unpredictability (ie: excitement) to the final pool round to see which teams go through. So if we look at the likely fallout of the 6 pools, we'll...

I was 7 - so nothing much to add on the tour.

However the next year I got swept up in the mighty all whites at Spain ‘82. I played football and rugby for two years and then it was football only for the next 12 years.

Not sure if the swing to football in ‘82 wasn’t also from the Bok tour….
