Re: NZ Politics Thread

Chris Bishop seems to have a severe antipathy to regulation and regulators. Maybe it's bir out of his time as a tobacco spin doctor. What prompted the above is Bishop killing off any regulation of Property Managers. His stated reasoning is so far off it couldn't be described as disingenuous, I think...

Re: Irish arrogance stuns Springbok stars

An unnamed Argentina player says he was stunned by the arrogance of England's players during their World Cup group clash last year. The two sides met in the pool stages in France, which England won 27-10 in a fascinating clash in Marseille. The player spoke to former Scotland player Jim Hamilton in...

Warm Beer Confirmed as Shite

Room temperature beer/ale is confirmed by boffins as being a shit way to imbibe one's tipple of choice. We all knew that anyway, but some people are innately bone headed and dogmatic with a tendency to haughtiness. Properly chilled beer / ale offers a more refined experience that may be beyond the k...

Re: NZ Politics Thread

The idea of "getting ahead" is problematic. Getting ahead of what or whom. Well it's not that hard is it? If you're struggling to pay the bills and put food on the table from payday to payday getting ahead might be as simple as being able to pay the bills and even saving a little for a rainy day or...

Re: NZ Politics Thread

Possibly. NZF, and Winston in particular, usually campaign well at election time. However, they tend to campaign better when they're fighting against the status quo and courting the 'antis' and conservatives in society, i.e. 'anti-vaccine mandate, anti-Maori, anti-trans, etc'. Yeah that's a good po...

Be interesting to see who the third choice 10 is after Dmac and BB. I'd still tend towards Perofeta who was brilliant for All Blacks XV against Japan. He's barely played this season and been hot and cold. In all honesty I'd never select Cameron. I'd pick Harry before him  Do we need a 3rd spec...

Re: Speed up the game vs the toughness and strategy of a slower pace match.

Rather than speeding up the pace of the game, per se, my preference is to reduce the faffing around. That is to say, reduce the static time and the interminable resets that occur in the main for no other reason than the scrum or lineout is not perfect in the eyes of the officials.

Nah, really? Yes really, that's why I don't get your fixation on his perceived poor tackling when it's really not the weakest part of his game :? We disagree. Re: All Blacks 2024

Given the relative lack of depth at lock, I wonder how close Isaia Walker-Leawere is to making the squad? He's a big body, and is playing good Rugby. One of the best alpha dog moves Razor could do would be to list Ioane as a winger in his first squad of the season. I hope he does it. Sometimes the stars align in your favour, and sometimes they just don't. The Hurricanes were off the back of a tough game in Suva, and it's never an easy trip to Canberra even at the best of times. The loss of a stalwart like Aumua was always going to be a difficult hurdle, and the lineout woes las...

Anywhere from Monday evening to Thursday, but it looks like Wednesday is not ideal. Don't know if the laws allow for it, so this is more of a rugby philosophy point - His arms were up, so it doesn't count as a shoulder. It was late, but it wasn't late enough that contact could have been totally avoided. However, and this is the philosophy bit, it was late enough that he could have...

Re: SR Rd 10. Brumbies V Canes: A Capital Affair!

The Hurricanes' lineout has been feeding turnovers to the Brumbies all day. True, but it's a 5th choice hooker who's only had one super rugby game. No gameplan, no cohesiveness and no ability to maintain possession or build pressure. I'd hate to think how many missed tackles or dropped balls there ...
