Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
The Reds played well despite going down at the death. Paisami carried on his good form. Lynagh was again excellent. His defence is decent but he does get bumped off every now and then due to his size. Our 10s will not be picked primarily on defence. Attack and kicking will be more important. That y...

Re: Finau tackle on Edmed.
I agree - but he is not alone in doing this to No 10s. yes, I agree. Tbh, there has always been an element of trying to hurt the opposition in Rugby. Someone like Bakkies Botha made a career out of doing this. They were doing it when I was a nipper - Tiny White; Kevin Skinner, Colin Meads, Frik de ...

Re: Finau tackle on Edmed.
It's all technically legal but there is no doubt in my mind that Finau is deliberately timing it so he's hitting them late when they're not expecting it. Yep, he's trying to hurt the opposing player, which is a very risky strategy in the modern game. I agree - but he is not alone in doing this to N...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
The Rebels need $22m to clear their debt - the group that wants to ‘save’ them are property developers backed by PE, which seems like the worst kind of people imaginable. They're clearing the debt at 30c on the dollar, other than employee entitlements. Interesting. I haven’t seen a link - can you s...

Re: SRP Rd 10 Reds v Blues
Who was it that said they thought he was better the McDermott? the Reds breakdown has been destroyed. Do you really think McDermott would do any better? Yeah I was thinking this. Mid level thinkers blame the half back for scrappy back of the ruck ball. Some of the drops have been stone cold.

Very happy with that. Was the bounceback the Brums needed after last week. Everyone was miles better.
Tua, Wright, Cale, Pollard, and Scott were immense.

Re: SR Rd 10. Brumbies V Canes: A Capital Affair!
Tua has been very good.
Rory Scott has been a good add, I think he's a better player than Browne.
So good to have Lenny and 7As back.

Re: Chiefs are playing someone this evening
Piss poor defence. Weird selections. Overly complex lineout calls Poor coaching basically. Doesn’t explain shit like gamble failing to do his job. I’d also love to see the stats on Jed’s tackles and rucks tonight. I reckon they’re f**ked. Gamble should be nowhere near the team We’ve got local star ...

Re: SRP R10 Crusaders v Rebels
I wondered how much today's news would affect the Rebels. Didn't take long to find out. I'm wondering if the Rebels should be permitted to play another game. What guarantee is there that the players and staff will be paid, their PAYG income tax will be paid, etc etc? RA is paying the players and co...

Re: SRP R10 Crusaders v Rebels
Rebels scrum has been good until today. First game without LSL. Don't think that's a coincidence. Crusaders have been poor but their scrum has still been dominant rather than good. I thought the Rebels starting scrum looked pretty ropey all season to be honest. Then you haven't seen many stats.

That's a separate but excellent discussion.
I think DuPont could play any position in the backline to an international standard.

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Hannigan's off to France. Losing a lot of backrowers - Kemeny, Swinton, Hannigan so far. Is that confirmed? Heard it was on a knife edge. Looks like it... From today: Lachie Swinton and Ned Hanigan - are both set to leave the Waratahs at the end of the season to play in France, just as they enter t...

 Frizell plays ‘heavy’ though. If that’s even a thing So does Savea. The only soft cock in that backrow is soak tackle Papalii. Papali'i has is 5th equal for dominant tackles in Super Rugby from all players. Sure thing bud. He's the most overrated ABs backrower in two decades.

Says he weighs 105kg. Think he only needs an extra 5kg if that's the case. AB's went deep into the RWC last year with Frizell as their heaviest loose forward at 110kg. Frizell plays ‘heavy’ though. If that’s even a thing So does Savea. Having a quick look over the Super Rugby stats for Australian loose forwards I'd go for these guys: 6. Liam Wright 7. Fraser McReight 8. Charlie Cale Bench Josh Kemeny Valetini has the lowest tackle percentage and the most missed tackles of any Australian loose forward so far this season. That's a ...
