Remember when he was a winger and in the build up to the Tour of Hell game where Australian beat England by 70 there was outrage in the Australian media about him being put in to play at 10. Certainly proved the doubters wrong.

There's been a general switch to the Saltire. I used to have a Lion Rampant, and wouldn't be seen dead with a saltire, but not now. Don't know why! It’s a crying shame that I automatically assume anyone who flies the saltire in their window is an SNP nationalist loon. It’s become a bit like the St ...

For those that claim that the use of masks is of no value, I offer this article which I read some days ago. I wrote my thoughts on this on the previous but one page. In summary and anecdotally everyone I see wearing a mask is continuously touching their face because the mask is uncomfortable/they c...

I may be talking bollocks but I think my first ever post on PR was in 1998 when I was living in Sydney. I was PhilM back then. Then I started posting on scrum.com and don’t think I made a reappearance on PR till about 2003/2004.

I remember Tim Rodber putting in an incredible shift once against SA in SA. One of the best individual performances I ever saw. I remember Rodber smacking Simon Tremain into the middle of next week when England played Eastern Province in 1994 in a typically filthy match, the low point of which was ...

I remember Tim Rodber putting in an incredible shift once against SA in SA. One of the best individual performances I ever saw. Was that in the first Lions test? I wouldn’t describe Rodber as “unheralded,” though. He’d been in theEngland back row for years at that stage. No this was for England pre...

Step aside, Scotland of the mid 2000's coming through: Andy Henderson, 53 caps - a terrible route-one centre who wasn't physical enough to execute his own playing style, couldn't pass either. Marcus Di Rollo, 21 caps, Henderson's outside partner, worst catcher i have seen in international backs Dan...

Maybe I’m missing something but how on earth is Catcher in the Rye considered a work of genius. It’s dreadful. It made me genuinely angry. Same with the Power of One. I loved the Power of One's premise but Bryce Courtenay's continued gushing over Peekay became nauseating. Ah can’t agree there. Love...

If a player on my team got a red card for a flying blindside shoulder to another player's head, I'd say "fair enough," no matter what series of events led to the referee's decision. As roundabout as the ref's method of making his decision was, he made the right one in the end. aye right. You ...

As an 8 year old we were in a family holiday staying at Onich hotel in West of Scotland. My dad wanting some peace and quite challenged me to row a canoe across to the other side of the loch (about 400m). It was a nice day and I decided to have a kip in the canoe. Has anyone seen the stuff doing the rounds about there being many AirBnB hosts who are actually 'superhosts' and in reality own 10+ properties, but all are mortgaged rather than owned outright and they use the rental income to pay off the mortgages? Don't have much sympathy for them, but it could t...

I found that all the 'classic' books from the renaissance period are overrated (the ones I read anyway). Some examples? Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility are two books I remember. Admittedly I’m coming from a sample size of one but the nuanced subtlety of his satire in Breakfast of Champions seemed to be mentioning the size of every male characters penis and drawing a picture of a hairy fanny. I just didn’t see what the feck was amusing unless you’re a 13 year old boy.

Moby Dick was a great book I listened to it audiobooks. I reckon it would be a difficult read with the tedious details of whaling. It's one of the best written books ever. Truly wonderful.
