Re: OFFICIAL SR'24 Cpt Hurricane Canes vs Reds Thread, Sun 3 March (SUPER ROUND)
Both teams looked very impressive in Round 1. This should be one of the best games of the weekend.

The Aussies were right about Mitch Santner about four years ago.
He offers fudge all.
He thinks he does. But he doesn't.

I know pre-season games don't mean much, but a 52-19 win over the Hurricanes last weekend was certainly impressive.

Re: anyone else mentally struggle in their 40's ?
Not sure if this is the right spot but it’s going here. When I was 39 my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer (it was found on her 37th birthday). The cancer had spread to her liver but the doctors felt it was still operable. She had 12 weeks of chemo and then had a life saving operation sc...

Re: France vs Ireland Official 2024 6N Match Thread
I thought Ireland looked very impressive. Certainly living up to their top tier ranking. Conversely I felt France were disappointing, and well below their best despite playing well in patches.

Re: I agree with Wayne Barnes
I'm just glad Barnes is gone. He was a good ref, but chalk and cheese when it came to the AB style of play. I used to load up on the opposition at the bookies when NZ had the misfortune of drawing him and his equally officious "RFU" team and usually did quite well.

Re: France vs Ireland Official 2024 6N Match Thread
I think Ireland is probably the best team in the world and has been for a few years, just unlucky for them they hit a NZ team who played their best test also in a few years. But as a kiwi, we all know about hitting sudden road blocks in world cups. Probably a fair call. Despite being quality teams ...

Well, I hit the big 50 later this year On balance life is good - relocated out of Sydney up the coast and loving where we're at. Some angst about work - but I made the concious decision to jump off the hamster-wheel. Life always sorts itself out. The usual mid-life pondering continues. Hunter Valle...

I've just cleared the halfway mark and the mental health is pretty good. Enjoying life in Auckland, plenty to see and do, and have a good job with a reputable Kiwi company. Opportunities to improve include my strength and fitness, which I'm currently working on with a PT, and FINALLY becoming a home...

Re: Ref did NOT help Springboks at RWC’ — World Rugby rubbishes cheating claims
Etzebeth was a cheat in the French game too? Didn't notice. His epic blurring of the lines in the final certainly had a major impact. Wandering into a hot AB attack at precisely the "wrong" time and then knocking the ball out of the AB hands at a crucial lineout. Fair play to him. He took his ...

Great ref. I was always thrilled to see him appointed to ABs games knowing he would oversee a flowing contest, rather than a drop dead boring shitfest you often see under a NH whistler.

Stade de France /thread Agreed. It takes forever to get there as the traffic is shite and it's in the middle of nowhere. Further to the latter point, there is also f'kall happening around the venue. Re: Your least favourite rugby stadium
Eden Park seems to have been unfairly lumped into the multi-purpose shitbox category. In reality it's a,rugby gound that can host cricket at a pinch. It's a fairly shite cricket ground with its small boundaries, but it is a fairly decent rugby stadium. Crucially, most seats are close enough to the a...

I actually think a fit Patrick Tuipolutu could be a great short term option for the All Blacks provided he is good to go, and he has stated as much. Good post. Foster was definitely worse than Mains. At least Mains built a formidable team. What did Foster do? Cruised as he does best, very nearly losing his job in the process before the competence of Ryan and Schmidt bailed him out.

Re: Razor's first press conference
In all honesty my respect for Razor will drop if he engineers Mo playing for the ABs while being an offshore player. He's a good enough coach to not need to do that. I think they're more likely to tinker with his contract such that it is win win for both parties. That might see R Mo play an elongat...

Re: Razor's first press conference
Scott Barrett certainly appeals as a bookies favourite to take over the captaincy.
He appeals because he seems like a good bloke and is a great player. I'm not sure he's much of an improvement on Sam Cane in terms of discipline however.

Razor's first press conference
Razor Robertson has had his first press conference of 2024 as AB coach today and I found two of the reported points quite interesting. 1. It sounds like he is working on making Richie Mo'unga available for the ABs even though he has signed a three-year deal in Japan. I think that would have to invol...
