Re: The Official and ONLY England v Ireland Match Thread

McCarthy has a tendency to chase the big hits which leaves him tackling air/non-ball-carrying oppo far too often. He can be maddeningly ineffective at times. He's been anonymous today Hopefully the chat at HT straightens him up. Otherwise I'd hook him. Him, in the zone, Id prefer to keep out there....

I don't agree. I think I'd prefer an independent source of income and editorial independence for RTE, especially with the prospect of a Shinner giving RTE the orders they receive from Belfast. Agreed. O'keffee joined RTE in 2003. She was/is a pal of Conor Hayes who was RTE CFO from early 2000s to 2...

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby

The conflict is a very good example of how hard it is to be moderate these days. Any sort of 'you need to look at it from X or Y's perspective' is met with accusations of support for all actions by X or Y. The only reason we have peace in the North is both sides grudgingly accepting the other sides...

Nope, can't agree here - what Israel is doing can't be condoned and the only tools open to us are to make them pariahs in the spaces they want to share with the west. The other thing I'd say for Stockdale is that loads of wingers seem to have a mid-career slump. For example, Earls and Trimble both started well, had a slump in form/confidence before returning better than ever. Stockdale was in a similar form/confidence slump and serious injuries have elongated it...

Robot, or Bot for short, is interesting. We use the BOT to validate our information inputs. Place a dot or a decimal place in the wrong part of the data input - and the BOT rejects the data validation. No flexibility whatsoever. On an economy of scale, it makes sense for a company to have a BOT vali...

Just saying, but if Barry John had not retired so early in his career, their would be little talk of Phil Bennett. Bennett was a very different sort of player, with Edwards inside him, Fenwick and Gravell (mostly), two beasts of men for the time, outside him, and a back three of JJ Williams, Gerald...

Delighted with that result. I thought at one point, after Crowley missed the penalty at goal, that France were going to comeback in a sustained away. Thankfully they didn't, or more likely they weren't allowed to do so. Thought Gibson Park had a great game and should have been MOM. Beirne and McCart...
