Re: Le Ryder Cup - 28/09-30/09

The crowd are 100% better behaved than any yank home crowd That's setting an awfully low bar ! I'd like to think that the game can be played in a better spirit this side of the pond; & that we wouldn't stray beyond banter. If they want to be plums; that reflects on their fans, not us. Did I not rea...

Re: Le Ryder Cup - 28/09-30/09

2-2 feels like a win Extremely tense, from 3-up at the start of the eleventh to that ending. Phew... was very similar to the Garcia/McIlroy pairing this morning when Finau and Koepka almost made it back. Two very important wins. The other 3 games this afternoon were rather controlled. 10-6, still 4...

This is a great start compared to yesterday, got the crowd into it very early. Very windy and thus sooooo cold despite sunny skies. Can’t believe Molinari is playing sleeveless. x(

4 up- 2 up - 5 up - 3 up

The wind has been really picking up ever since the start of that round, some pretty significant wind gusts at times. Amazed at how they still manage to land on some very tight fairways.

Re: Le Ryder Cup - 28/09-30/09

Players are getting more used to the course now, some sharp stuff from the US of A early this morning with Big Phil holing his 2nd shot on the first hole (par 4). His group absolutely ripped apart the following home (par 3), all shots nearly at the flag! Good thing is the next group was the total op...

Re: Le Ryder Cup - 28/09-30/09

Followed Rose/Garcia group most of the morning and they ended playing in foursome configuration with Justin/Sergio and Rory/Rahm as pairings. Also had a look at Tiger’s group, good news is they didn’t sink many putts! Dechambeau and Michelson were much better. They’re all trying to adapt to the cour...

The Ryder Cup is happening 15 miles away from my home and a few miles away from my office. Otherwise some people are or will be following "la coupe Ryder" but not too many. Golf r...

Question for fellow wineaux: Does "Château" on a label add prestige to a wine? My latest blog post Surely this is only a French thing? Absolutely catastrophic half in defense, we can’t catch a single header, it’s always a Croatian player getting the ball. Pavard is consistently being ridiculed by Perisic on his side. Worst half for us in this department since the start of this WC. Great spirit from Croatia, that’s how the game shou...

Giroud is the 4th highest scorer in France football history. Behind Henry, Platini and Trezeguet. Ahead of Zidane, Fontaine and Papin. Yes he is. My comment was about him being yet to score a goal in this competition, which leads to pundits unfairly concluding that he's not playing well. He is, and...

How they got all of them out without any snags or panic attacks in those conditions is incredible. The rescue divers must have 'the right stuff' in bucketfuls. Very impressed by this.
