Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

It's a turn of phrase Like we don't blame women for being raped, we shouldn't blame people who get assaulted for being in the wrong place and we shouldn't use the circumstances of how or why Rittenhouse came to be in Kenosha as proof of either guilt or innocence when there is the opportunity to clos...

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

1. It wasn't an assault rifle. Don't use such emotive words 2. It hasn't yet been established in the trial that he wasn't allowed to have it, that has to wait until the judge's directions to the jury 3. It doesn't make any difference to the circumstances of the shootings whether the gun is legally o...

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

I wasn't making an allusion to the circumstances of the Rittenhouse case, I was answering the hypothetical put forward by koroke hangareka The strongest part of the case against Rittenhouse is the motive for the Rosenbaum shooting but the prosecution hasn't successfully explained why Rosenbaum chase...

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

Well I think that would depend heavily on the circumstances of the shootings If they were spraying bullets into the crowd while laughing maniacally that's obviously different to if they were being beaten to within an inch of their life by the 3 people. The reasons they are there in the first place a...

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

Entire prosecution case seems to be that Rittenhouse made a bad decision to be there, should have gone home and the fact he didn't means his actions are reckless While that may be true, it doesn't seem to be very relevant when you boil the facts down to the moments surrounding the shootings It's ess...

A 'good kid'/boy scout' with an automatic rifle capable of firing 5.56 NATO standard rounds, aged 17. What kind of skewed society permits or even accepts that to be the norm? He then shoots 3 people of allegedly questionable backgrounds in self defence. I joined the military at 21, having only fire...

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

Why is there this obsession with it being an AR-15 as if that makes any difference.

It is the most popular modern rifle platform in the world. There are literally hundreds of variants for sale in the US, some for pretty cheap

It's exactly the gun you would expect

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

I don't think the jury will be able to delineate the chronology of the two events. Technically you're correct but it would be hard to get the jury to perceive the two shootings as isolated events with separate motives given one happens immediately after the other. The Rosenbaum shooting by contrast ...

Bro, you are watching the trial? Or were you there? FFS, the guy on the stand in that clip was the 3rd shooting victim. This shooting victim's actions have no effect on determining if the two previous shooting were justified cause they happened AFTER RITTENHOUSE HAD ALREADY SHOT TWO PEOPLE. Time is...

Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

Judging by all the comments on You Tube, this guy is going to walk free based on self defence. Re: The Significance of the Kyle Rittenhouse Case.....

As usual there is so much polarization that a factual debate can't occur. It's madness that a kid can walk around with a semi automatic weapon... where are his parents and don't they risk anything as legally responsible for their son's behavior? You're correct, it's also mad that people in that sma...

Re: Mandatory vaccinations for work

If there are genuine health and safety risks, how does this not apply to a myriad of other vaccinations e.g. Chickenpox, measles, flu, hepatitis, whooping cough, meningococcal.

I don't think anyone would have ever successfully sued their workplace for catching chickenpox from a coworker

Apparently the first guy started chasing Rittenhouse because he believed Rittenhouse had committed the awful crime of extinguishing a burning rubbish skip.
