Those quotes look like they were partially motivated by the prospect of playing SA in a couple of days though.
It's hard to tell if it's a huge focus of the team or if POC was just commenting on how Etzebeth is a huge mofo.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Anybody else have concerns over Schmidt wanting the players to bulk up before the RWC? http://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/sport/oconnell-we-could-be-bigger-650248.html I would have thought that the players are highly tuned pro athletes who are working close to optimal weight for their frame ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
The question is do you see Darcy as part of the RWC squad? If yes, then he should be involved Saturday,If no then let's move on and say thanks Gordon. Personally I'd keep him there- he's playing ok, as well as any most of the contenders, and no one is really demanding his place. Henshaw, Payne, Old...

Liked the way Payne showed his man the outside a couple of times on Saturday and then hauled him down. And the inside defenders descended on the ruck like a pack of wolves. His defense was fantastic. There were a couple of times where players looked to almost break past him but he adjusted at the l...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Olding will be on the bench for the Georgia match if he doesn't start.
If that's the real team I'd be happy, we should be putting 50+ on them.
I guess Henshaw is an inside centre now.

DCC just voted €60 million budget for homelessness. There are approx 3000 homeless in Dublin so it's about €20k per person per annum. The poor unfortunates who are homeless are presumably already in receipt of rent allowance, medical cards and basic social welfare - probably to a value of another €...

Lads, do you not think Schmidt has earned, at least for this week, to pick the team he wants without criticism? He clearly knows what he's doing. If Olding is in his plans, he's in his plans, if he's not (yet, I would hope) then he's not. Does it really matter as long he keeps on putting out teams ...

Didn't see too much of the RC this year. I did catch a bit of Pollard but didn't realise he'd played nearly every game. Is he really as good as he's been made out to be? I really like the look of Conway lately, he puts in so much work. I wonder will he get any caps this November, he seems to fit the mold of what Schmidt wants in a winger, though maybe he's a bit small.

At the risk of being swarmed, I dont think we'll lose a huge amount with Payne playing at full back. Would be good to give him a few runs there against good test opposition anyway. Why would you be swarmed for that opinion? Indeed. Moving Payne (back) to full back and playing centers in the center ...
