Re: 15 Minute Cities
Doubt as wet and windy as here in Scotland, and also probably not so hilly either. I cycle, but as a leisure activity only now. I did on occasion cycle go to work when it was a short distance - safety really wasn't factor, for me other weather related - ice /wind, and pot holes. Hilly is fair enoug...

Re: 15 Minute Cities
The weather has much to do with it. Two weeks of constant rain puts a bit of a damper on walking and cycling. Then there's the not being dressed appropriately the end of the journey, or needing to move heavy stuff. I guess Amstersam and Copenhagen are just sunny all year round. Doubt as wet and win...

Re: 15 Minute Cities
Ted, I and a few others have noted that most of what's being talked about doesn't concern building a single.damned.thing. It's about controlling the way people access things already built. These are very different things. Adding lanes to roads or building new ones etc is how to make it easier to dr...

It's generally more subtle than that. Taking lanes out and putting in half-arsed cycle routes in spite of little or no demand, or ridiculous lowering of speed limits with no good reason. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2023/nov/04/brexit-lack-of-cash-politics-has-the-uk-cycling-revolution-...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)
Speaking of dudes that don’t ever let bias cloud their judgement……. I’m so proud of Queensland that I had my two front teeth removed. I’m reasonably happy how the Reds are doing this year; however the most popular Australian poster (undefeated for 12 years fwiw) would only include one Reds’ player ...

Ermm, please sir, that's not the only way, is it? Its the best and most practcial way. Of course there are any number of other ways. Been left a small inheritance by an uncle , but it’s large enough for a couple of trips with x2 . I’ve always been fascinated by Mongolia the Gobi and in the nadaam games in particular. Re watched the game this morning with my boys… Toole is excellent. Got all the skills, not just fast. Can’t wait to see him in gold. Other observations on a second look: - wright and Wilson did a lot of hard work. Mcreight had an off game. Well covered. - Valetini did more than I thought he did on ...

BPA has signed with the force for 25, so is immediately eligible without needing to use an overseas spot. Given Porecki, Longeran crooked, Uelese still useless, Pollard still young, Nasser still a prop, he might be needed.

Re: SRP Rd 6 - Reds v Brumbies
My angry, bitter rant in bullet points: - Swain and Holloway are the best locks in Australia atm. - Tom Wright is unreal. - Hudson Creighton is the worst pro fly half I’ve seen and he cost the Refs another loss. You’re on notice Les Kiss. - Pollard isn’t ready to be a test hooker. - Brumbies’ packs...

How many test match cards has Swain got now? He could be f**king Messi and I still wouldn’t pick him if he can’t control himself One yellow, one red in 17 tests. Well, there you go. The evidence is there to see. Would require a lot of judgement to pick him. I’m afraid the jury’s out on him, for the...

Re: LRZ
I do think comparing the two sports is futile, tbf. So different and yeah rugby players definitely need to be more all-round and aerobically fitter for sure. But for the sake of comparing athleticism I like to use the lock Vs Tight End comp. They’re roughly the same height and weight on average (6’...

And also as purely offensive players, they pretty much never need to anticipate anything. Every play is choreographed to the nth degree. Sportsmen are rarely the sharpest, but offensive NFL players probably the least of all. They are essentially robots sent out to deploy raw speed and muscle memory...

Re: LRZ
Just to put NFL players’ athleticism into context, LRZ’s pro day results would put him 16th fastest in this year’s rookie class at the combine for the 40yard dash, and his vertical jump would be dead last. That’s just for WRs. And he’s probably the most explosive and certainly the fastest player ru...

Re: SRP Rd 6 - Reds v Brumbies
Good game, I feel like we got lucky and a knock on was missed at that final scrum.
If Schmidt is as good as we think he is, the Wallabies will mostly be from those two teams.
Swain played out of his skin. I'd almost start him vs the ABs just to wind up the kiwis.

Re: Waratahs v Rebels
Went last night. General standard was poor with some really good passages and tries scored. But basic set pieces executed so poorly just sets up another poor Wallaby season. Tahs have a shitload of forward injuries but still should have won last night. They dont have a playmaker in the backs, Marky...
