Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Can see Kitshoff being one of Ulsters worst signings. Interms of bang for buck. Called it before he arrived. looks like he doesn’t give a shit. It’ll be interesting to see how Flannery does when he come on. Mcnabney doing okay for his 3rd cap and European debut. He’s going to be a quality player fo...

English sides doing well so far.
The closing down of Irish, Worcester and Wasps has maybe concentrated the talent a bit better?

Re: Planet Rugby's top 50 players (2023)
If you’re picking an Irish player it has to be Keenan or Sheehan. Truely World class players aren’t inconsistent and are relatively error free. I do t think Keenan or Sheehan have ever had poor games.
Just natural, sublime rugby players.

La Rochelle have been a bit poor this season though.
Possibility of all four Irish provinces losing this weekend. Munster have the best chance of a win, even though they arguably have the weakest 23. They’ve far too many injuries!!

Skelton there then!!
It’ll be interesting to see how McCarthy and Ryan stack up to a tight 5 containing Atonio and Skelton. Furlong will be a big loss as Ala’alatoa is a fairly average prop.

Physicality in defence? A focus on bringing their guys down? How's Connors been since returning? Haven't really had a look at him. La Rochelle missing 2 of their 4 titans (Danty, Atonio, Skelton, Aldritt). Leinster will be favourites or at least even money. Aldritt and which other one? Skelton?

Willie’s favourite soccer team were up North last night and Amhrán na bhFiann was played in Windsor Park for the first time. No-one cares bitter boy. Even you can appreciate the significance of the Irish anthem being played at Windsor Park. Was it booed? I hope not was respected. When NI ...

Was that the lad who fell off a bonfire? Whatever happened to him in the end? In terms of Unionists, my sympathy towards them is finite. The DUP having a tantrum at the prospect of a Catholic First Minister and sabotaging the political system says a lot about the values of a significant proportion ...

Not going to happen. Brexit presents NI with the opportunity to be the link between GB and the EU. There is going to be an increased All Ireland economy but they are not going to sacrifice that position. Once the Unionists figure this out, it's done. The only possibility now is Scotland leaving the...

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby
I come across an Irish unity poll from the Irish times at the weekend. Interesting to note that even without an executive and government, there is low interest within Northern Ireland for there to be a united Ireland. A vote wouldn’t come close to winning. Points of interest - 21% of those from a ca...

Nick Williams was very good as Ulster, Wannenburg (Rest easy Pedrie) was so consistent every week and Afoa was good.
Plenty of good NIQ players. Fardy and Thorn at Leinster. Contepomi, Elsom etc.
It is down to the professionalism of the player.

He was potentially one and still could be one. No different to Stockdale. Kelleher never done it at international level. He was still in the top tier potential bracket, instead of world Beater, although he was good vs All blacks in 2021(or whenever it was) I think, but unlike Jacob, he didn’t break...

My take away from the highlights is that Mack Hansen is still an absolute baller and we would have beaten the AB's if he was fully fit. Why ? Care to point out how Ngatai could have been carded? I agree with redder that more onus needs to go on the carrier but there's no law I'm aware of that could see Ngatai penalised let alone carded.
