Re: NZ Politics Thread
Yep. To be clear, as a rule, property managers in this country are extremely poor at what they do. Lack basic competencies and rarely act independently and sometimes are downright dishonest. Are you basing this on extensive first hand experience, statistics o r do you have nationwide industry conta...

Re: NZ Politics Thread
When we've used property managers the bigger companies have been on the most part fine, the issue comes in when it's the sole operators who say they're property managers but only know how to collect rent. We had issues where they had no ideas around the requirements for insulation sign off etc, we ...

Thoughts on the Havili experiment? Didn't get to see much of the game Actually I thought he was OK. Kicked well and directed the backline well. Hes a 12 thats decent at 10. Good man to have on the bench for the ABs or starting at 12 and a backup 10. If tours were still a thing he could be worth a s...

Re: Ruck.co.uk most overrated rugby players
I 100% agree with the one New Zealand player on that list SBW. Massively overrated player. A slow, lumbering one trick pony who stymied our midfield play for years but received all the plaudits and accolades for his occasionally brilliant offloads. Otherwise it was like having a lock or blindside fl...

Re: SRP - R11 Crusaders vs Reds Sat 4:35pm
What an odd refereeing performance. "You're on a warning" "....except for high tackles for some reason." "And now it's been a while so you're on a warning again." Warning at 50:50. Second warning at 64:15. So does a warning have a 10 minute expiry? Since when? Clear as mud. Apparently "release" mea...

Chris Bishop seems to have a severe antipathy to regulation and regulators. Maybe it's bir out of his time as a tobacco spin doctor. What prompted the above is Bishop killing off any regulation of Property Managers. His stated reasoning is so far off it couldn't be described as disingenuous, I thin...

Didn't get to see the game, but had score updates coming in while I was umpiring my boys cricket. No idea if it was a good win or not , but happy regardless, we don't get many across the ditch. How did Creighton go at 10, not the disaster we were all expecting? It was an excellent win for the Reds.

Grabbing my popcorn as the Julie Anne Genter show continues to roll on. What's the latest? I saw some headline about further allegations of intimidation. Property managers still have to comply with the tenancy act and associated regulations when dealing with the tenancies do they not? You would hope this is relatively hypocrisy free, given that Tim Van De Whatsisname precedent. She should be referred to the privileges committee and, if also found in contempt of Parliament, be censured. The Greens leadership can then remove her from her portfolios, as Luxon did. Looks all very st...

It's becoming a bit of a trend. As a previous green voter it's sad to watch and I don't know that Norman, Fitzsimons, Donald et al would recognise what they've become. Even Nandos Taco was pretty chill. He showed an ability to work collaboratively across party lines. The current approach seemed to ...

I did like James Shaw's valedictory though. Confessing that he must have a thing for bald conservative men was definitely a funny moment in there (given his friendships with Todd Muller and Christopher Luxon). Definitely a calming voice that's leaving - and he also emphasised the need for collabora...

I wouldn't read too much into it, I'd say an election campaign would see NZF go up at least 1%, and if they get back the government stays . I'm surprised by that polling. Based on history, I expect this National-led government to be a minimum two-term government (from memory, the last 1 term government in NZ was in the 50s?). In fact it was the right decision and decisive. The explanation however was very muddled. Why you think your post clever is a little confusing, I never argued that it was a weak action .
