Re: TRC Final : Springbokke vs LosPumas Mbombela
So it seems Argentina just need to beat the Boks by 8 or more It's not points diff, but rather head to head that is the tie breaker. Argentina are 5 points behind aren’t they? Don’t they need a BP and to win by 8? Argies need to win by 38 and a BP, they must deny the boks a BP in the process aswell...

Well, I know there’s a lot of negative sentiment, but I truly hope that Fihaki is able to finally recognise his god-given potential in a positive setting like the all blacks after the clear damage his development has suffered with the crusaders.

I saw a post online by James McConie indicating he played well for the Barbarians vs Fiji. Anyone watch that game? So he played well against Fiji B? A team that won't even be super rugby level. Congrats to him I guess.... Fiji B probably tested the barbarians more than whatever that super rugby fin...

I’m not sold on DMac by any stretch but the pile on is pretty underserved imo. I think he has the potential to grow into a good, possibly great first five. He, like the rest of the team, are taking longer than we’d like to figure it all out. I'm with you. Would Razor keep picking him if he was that...

Back then the EOYT was seen as the easiest part of the year where experimentation was expected. Robertson won’t have this luxury this year, not by a long way. In 2004, you may recall that there was the approaching shadow of the 2005 Lions Tour coming to NZ. And at the EOYT, the ABs coaches were und...

Re: How long until NZ relax their eligibility rules?
Has anyone compared the 2023 exodus with 2019, 2015 and earlier? We always see players effectively retiring from all blacks selection after a rwc. Is this time worse? My gut says it’s the same and we’re not actually dealing with anything new here.

But, as ever, in this thread I am interested who True Blue is going to put forward that would have meant we didn't cost ourselves major titles. This i a bad faith argument. It's not about guaranteeing that we will win more titles if overseas players were made eligible for selection. It's about whet...

If you don't think your bench can play to the same level, why are you selecting them? I wonder if a fresh hooker and lock would have helped when we lost that final lineout. Which hooker should we have on the bench that would play as well as Taylor was playing? There isn’t one in nz. Expecting your ...

Re: How long until NZ relax their eligibility rules?
I actually support eligibility for super rugby players, all inclusive. With a bit of luck it would strengthen the competition, I don’t like the divide in quality between Aussie and nz teams. A draft system would also be interesting, but I can’t see the NZRU risking the next Dan Carter languishing in...

Re: How long untill NZ relax their eligibility rules?
Retallick and Smith are retired from international rugby. Shannon Frizzell is a problematic person many of us don't want to see play for the All Blacks. Anyway, we've been assured Ethan Blackadder is a once-in-a-generation talent, so we wouldn't have needed Frizzell anyway. So the only player relev...

Re: How long untill NZ relax their eligibility rules?
Surely BBBR and Aaron smith could’ve got sabbaticals if they wanted them. Legends of all blacks rugby, they’ve done the time. I think they made a deliberate decision to exit international rugby and changing the eligibility rules may not actually get them in the squad. I don’t mind the NZRU negotiati...

Is a running, elusive fullback less desirable at All Black level than it was before ?
