Re: Heineken cup final 2012 - ULSTER VS LEINSTER

Obviously you'd prefer some sort of solution to all those Unionists who will be playing and watching in the stadium, a final one perhaps. Couldn't agree more. This is the wit kant who goes around claiming he has his little group that obsesses about him yet every time you post Willie he's onto you l...

Re: The official cycling thread

It is actually very robust, you'll ruin your wheel long before you damage the fork. Weather shouldn't be an issue either. There are loads of people running carbon forks on winter training bikes and commuters with no problems. Carbon frame? I suppose it depends what one uses their bike for. For comm...

Re: The official cycling thread

I set myself a challenge of 20/10/20/10/20 miles for my Mon-Fri commute - did a few extra miles a couple of days so I ended up with 92 miles for the week. I was very 'kin happy to see the 20 mile mark click over 50 yards from my front door on Friday night; my legs were mince by then. Probably a 60/...

Re: The official cycling thread

Fixed are interesting to ride. I sometimes go down to Eamonn Ceannt park to ride the track on a fixed with crew down there on Wednesday evenings. I'm not sure I'd try riding a fixed on the open road though. edit : what fixed bikes are very good for is learning to ride tempo. Excellent form of cadenc...

Nice thread.

When you hit yer 40's for some reason gardening seems to be the thing to get in to.
I planted a hedgerow last October and, because of the mild winter we had over here, it's coming along really well.

Looking forward to reading some interesting stuff here

It is a phenomenal game. The skills of the game are one thing but to execute those skills at speed is something else. At the higher levels. At junior matches you'd often wonder if the lads know there's a ball there at all. Still entertaining, but in a nasty sort of way. Lower grade stuff can be dan...

Paddy Barnes (the fella sparring with Taylor) is a superb boxer.

I got odds three years ago 35-1 that Barnes will win gold in London, after he fought in Beijing 2008.
