Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
People have been singing the praises of the subs for steadying things but really the major factor in the last 15 mins was the fact that there were no scrums. That's cause the subs stopped dropping the ball so often. The primary ball dropping culprits yesterday stayed on until the end. Also helped t...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
 Yup. Never seen England so happy about being beat 4 tries to nil. Let them pat themselves on the back as much as they want. You have both missed the point. We aren't happy with getting beat we are happy with the way they fronted up and competed, particularly in the pack. Very few of us are ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I love furlong but getting absolutely roasted in the scrums and providing the English their only chance to steal the match gets him a 4.5?
Irish media are always so slow to call out their favourites.

Re: Official England v Ireland Match Thread 12/03/2022
Interesting listening to the rte radio commentary that whoever the English co commentator was (some ex player, can’t remember) said in the second minute of the match that he’d been told by someone in the camp that the English would go after furlong in the scrum. Interesting and worrying that he’s be...

The best thing about the result is the English talking themselves into thinking they played really well and are on the right track. . They have a strong pack that will always front up, but their overall gameplan and back play is just atrocious. If it wasn’t for the scrum penalties Ireland would have...

Talented player who gave his all on the field, but faded under the bright lights of lions tours and world cups. The Leinster academy is delivering top class talent. It’s the first team coaches who need to feel some of the heat. They have been unable to develop a game plan to handle teams that over power them. Same failures three years in a row yet no criticism from the journos or fans.

The Hungarians didn’t like the Irish footballers taking the knee. It is a load of stupid woke bollox so perhaps they have a point. It’s weird. European footballers are doing it in response to George Floyd’s murder. A murder in a different continent. Plenty of problems closer to home to worry about.

Loyalty ended up being Schmidt’s downfall and if Farrell doesn’t start picking our form players it will be Farrell’s too.
If he keeps picking the “experienced” players and loses he’s going to be out of a job. If he picks a new generation the fans and media will give him time.
