Re: NZ's Lock Stocks aren't Smokin'

On the topic of locks, I assume you’ve noticed that SRA teams’ starting pairs have each been under 200cm on a few occasions. Myself, I don’t put his down to all the taller blokes buggering off elsewhere. I’m leaning towards it being selection driven by the breakdown laws being trialled. The squads ...

We got out-thought in that semi but way more out-passioned. We were just losing collisions from the start, it was a head space thing, we weren't in it. I still think it's a credit the ABs how they stayed in that game till Sam W got the penalty reversed, given how much we were being dominated. Selec...

Can't say I am not disappointed.

At his best he is a very potent winger. Sure he is not a complete player but was certainly happy to have him at 11 for the Canes.

29, outside chance at best of making a few AB appearances, I can understand him taking the easy rugby route.

The love-in with Goodhue is hilarious, he's never been anything more than an ordinary player... Great player. Goodhue and ALB are locked in through to the next world cup. Yeah, Bayern needs to put down the crack pipe. Goodhue is near to our best centre. This from the dullard that spouted Beau’unga ...

He'd actually be a great AB coach. Any short punchy competition where he can brow beat the officials and opposition players is his natural space. A long drawn out league would bore him. Winning three Premiership on the bounce will do that to a man. But maybe there’s hope and a lesson there for the ...

Cracking game  I thought Frizzell was up there with Laumape for player of the round, another great performance. Ioane was excellent when he came on, provided the game to start to expose the space that was being created. I thought both 10s were pretty good, Hunt is making his mark and Trask,...

It's almost unfair to include AB wingers here because it's such a confidence position and nowhere else is there the same competition for places. All wingers go through ups and downs but a little dip and you're out in NZ. Take Stockdale for example. One season he was breaking the 6Ns try scoring rec...

Would it be unfair of me to nominate Owen Franks? Heralded as one of the great NZ props year after year. Hansen then got up on the wrong side of the bed and decided he was done. Yeah, it has to be 4 teams min. But with all the RSA, Japan and Arg teams gone, why the need for such a small number of teams? 5 NZ or 6 NZ, Fiji, 4 or 5 Aus, maybe Samoa too. I personally favour a 10 team comp, 5 each from NZ and Aust. 18 games, play each team home and away with two byes. That is ...
