Re: SA rugby return to play
Never heard the name Adre Smith before and suddenly he is on the bench for the Stormers. I see he plays flank for Griquas and maybe loaned to us?

Re: SA rugby return to play
Stormers really struggling with injuries. Scrumhalf/flyhalf I think we will still be ok but both our first choice locks out. Orrie and Meihuizen will be good in the lineouts but we may struggle a little at rucks etc. Our pack is fairly mobile so we need to speed up the game methinks.

Re: SA rugby return to play
I have been saying for some time that the liberal handing out of yellow and red cards is damaging the game and we need to make some other changes to protect the game. The new 20 minute red card rule is a step in the right direction. Particularly the lineout maul (which I hate and wish was not part o...

Re: SA rugby return to play
Tukkies vs Ikeys game cancelled for today. Apparently a lot of Covid cases in the Tukkies camp. Teams will share the points which probably favours the Ikeys who will stay top regardless of results. Cant wait for the Stormers/Sharks games. Is the Sharks Richardson injured? I rate the guy and if the S...

Re: SA rugby return to play
Did Ikeys beat Ixias 76 -5 ? Unbelievable. I think CUT underestimated Ikeys (they rested a few players) and also Ikeys played one of the best games I have seen them play. CUT will lose confidence and they still have to play Maties and Tukkies so may struggle to make the top four. The messag...

SS bought the SSL schoolboy channel. You can watch Noord vs Suid matches live on channel 246 Oom, it was so good to watch Schoolboy rugby again. I watched a few games from the Noord/Suid tournament. The South teams did very well. Stellenberg beating Monument was a highlight. It showed that a team w...

Re: SA rugby return to play
Thanks Oom. We have a good bunch of players who get on very well and enjoy each others company, so they play as a team and for each other. We have probably the biggest batch of Afrikaans players for a number of years in this group and in the under 20 group. We have four good locks but are a little ...

I know the Israel coach very well and he is a great person who will (has)instill good values amongst the players. He strongly believes in the idea of not only developing great rugby players but also developing them as great humans.

Re: SA rugby return to play
Alberts really impressed me with his work rate throughout the tournament, he definitely earned his salary. Bosch was a disappointment to me. He is turning into a two trick pony. Re: SA rugby return to play
That was some of the poorest rugby I have had the displeasure of watching. The WP forwards could just not execute with all the dominance in the first half. Also a lack of discipline by some the players. No continuity or execution of backline moves. The only positive was the heart shown by the Sharks...

Re: SA rugby return to play
My feeling is the Bulls are more suited to "finals" type rugby and will grind the Lions down. WP I expect will play it tight. My concern is the WP kicking game. We cant match the distance Bosch makes with his kicks and I expect one of the key plans will be to kick the ball directly out rather than f...

Re: SA rugby return to play
Great win for Cheetahs rugby. Showed a lot of desire and grit. Sharks looked very disjointed maybe due to not practicing enough as a result of Covid protocols? Dissapointing by them. Tight five struggled again.

I dont know if its true (dont want to slander anyone) but I heard that his wife or family owned some of the properties that the students were housed in (and paid from this money)at inflated rentals/food costs. Re: SA rugby return to play
I enjoyed both games this week-end as a neutral. The Lions just seem to have loads of gees and enjoying themselves. The Sharks forward pack struggled in particular the front row - although I am a believer that all 8 players carry the responsibility and not just one prop.

Not surprised with those. Sharks & Bulls the biggest poachers. You a bit worried about the sight of Kolisi in a Sharks jersey? I watched both under 21 games via live streaming. WP were totally outplayed by the Bulls but towards the end seemed to realise that playing fast open rugby is the best way to beat this Bulls team. Oom have to agree with you that Morne was by far the best flyhalf on show. Jens, what is your feeling on that Lions team. Nice backline but I have a feeling they may struggle up front. The Kings have the potential to succeed more than the other regions (Puma/Griquas). They have just been poorly managed and had too much political interference.
