Re: Women’s WXV1 (NZ) Oct 20-Nov 4; WXV2 (Sth Africa) & WXV3 (Dubai) - Oct 13-28

It's weird. I think winning earns your region an additional qualification slot for next season's competition. Not sure where that leaves Spain, if they pull off the upset.

Re: New competition starting in 2026 and next Rugby world cup to have 24 teams

Hate the effectively ringfenced World League. Lots of question marks about the 2nd tier. On board with the 24-team cup. The likely additional teams aren't really worse than minnows this year. No bye weeks, and a tighter, more consistent schedule. 4th round of pool games exchanged for round of 16. No...

Jones will almost certainly play 10 for Leicester, so perhaps best for her to feel her way back into test rugby at centre, and maybe look to expand her role next season.

France just about holding off waves of NZ pressure, and took their opportunities very well. NZ not quite slick enough when it matters. Good match.

Big result for Spain, holding off a late flurry from Fiji.

I thought Fiji would win that, but Spain played a smart game and worked tirelessly.

Some great matches today. Some absolute crackers tomorrow as well, surely.

In terms of experience there aren't many options. I think they wanted to play it relatively safe with the home world cup in the sights. Can see it happening in the next cycle.

That's a big call. England going for an extra bit of beef to start.

He's not quite been able to put his best out for England this year, but what a time to do it if he has a big game.

NZ/France should be a banger, but I'm really interested in Canada/Wales. Wales have been making good progress, and should push Canada pretty hard. Wouldn't be a big upset if they nicked it.

Who's Kelsey Clifford? Does signing for Saracens automatically get you selected (ahem... Carson, Bridger...)? It helps... People often say similar about the men's team and signing for certain clubs. To be fair to her, she's come through Sarries' system and England's pathway. Pretty experienced alre...
