Trampoline park owners fined after 11 people broke their backs at Flip Out Chester All the injuries occurred while people used the park's "tower jump" - where they dropped more than 17ft into a foam pit. Two men who owned a trampoline park where 11 people broke their backs and hundreds more got inj...

Re: 2024 "SA Rugby Factory" Varsity Cup
Maties fully deserved the win. They played very well against a strong wind in the second half. The disrupted the Ikey lineout the whole night. Windy conditions makes it difficult for backline play. Ikeys had chances to win but the Maties defended very well. I heard that some or other safety officia...

Re: The OFFICIAL Scotland v England Match Thread
Any thoughts on Brace's Refereeing performance? I thought there was a general absence of refereeing during play and some strange interpretations when he did bother, That maul call at the end was ridiculous given how long some standing tackles were allowed throughout the game and the tackled players...

all this crap started when Australia selected props who were incapable of scrumming. Bill Young, Matt Dunning etc. Armed only with a scowl and no other physical scrumming abilities they merrily went about collapsing scrums, losing their bind etc etc for reset after reset.

Currently Lay 19.4 states: Teams must be ready to form the scrum within 30 seconds of the mark being made. Sanction: Free-kick. Found that interesting. Maybe just enforcing existing laws around the scrum will have some unexpected positive effects. Law 19: Scrum I never realised how detailed the scr...

Re: Ball in Play
I don't think you're going to change defending teams going for an 8 man push by introducing a straight feed. The advantage is stlll with the team putting in and you lose too much asking your hooker to strike. Aren’t both hookers required to strike? Both hookers will be required to ensure one foot, ...

Re: Ball in Play
people forget or simply don't know how slow play was in the "good old days" there was a time when kickers would take touch-finders from penalties by way of a place kick: Andy Irvine famously so. The sand bucket would be brought out for this. In Irvine's case it was even more of a production. He kick...

An aerobic sport with anaerobic elements. It still shouldn't have increasing amounts of strategic breaks added or you turn it increasingly into a different sport. Look at scrums in the 70s and 80s.. no mucking about. Now we have scrums taking up almost half the amount of time we have ball in play t...

This is the poorest 6 Nations I have seen. We've definitely had as many/more poor games but it's not looking great alright. poor games can happen even when sides are playing reasonably well. France last week and Italy looked like Stumblebum XV's. Scotland went to sleep for an entire half last week....

Forget the last minute drama. If Scotland had played with a bit of ambition and kept patiently attacking they would have won handily enough. Scottish teams seem incapable of this and either get frantic, freeze in the headlights, make the wrong decision, make an inexplicable error or a combination o...

Skippered the side I think.
Came across as a proper prat at the post match interviews: which will please the poms.

I thought Karl Dickson had a great game. Did think Willemse should have got red for the first shoulder charge. I thought he was awful (but consistently awful) at the ruck. Side entries and dubious turnovers aplenty made for an interesting game at least. Lately refs seem to be very tolerant of side ...
