Re: The stunning decline of NZ crowd numbers

I was at a Tahs game a few weeks ago and the half time entertainment was High School ladies 7's.

I've never seen a crowd so into the half time entertainment. More cheers for those girls than the Tahs.

I'd write the Argies off at your peril. I can't see them bumping off both SA and NZ, but both of those teams are capable of losing at the Quarters (NZ if they face France, and SA will likely face one of Wales, England or Australia). If that happens, it is anyone's game.

It will literally kill any interest in the competition in NZ. Guaranteed. If the NZRU goes along with this sort of suggestion they will only have themselves to blame when support collapses. Re: Test rugby for Georgia

I'm not suggesting that Scotland be kicked out of the 6N, merely that they would have to be on their game to beat a full strength Georgia in Tbilisi, at home in front of 50k screaming fans. The whole A beat B, and A lost to C so therefore B would lose to C argument is a bit moot. Reality is that tea...

In fairness Georgia have shown they can get close to USA, Canada and a depleted Samoa team while the games are in Tiblisi. 16 Games is good. Works for the NFL. Well, yes and no. The owners have for some time been pressing for an extension of the regular season to around 20 games. McMahon isn't exactly a huge unit. Is his future at 6 or 7? An undersized 6 in the Ed Quirk mould. Don't think he'll ever make it to the absolute top, but he should be a handy Soup player. I have been watching the NFL combine.

If UM Punter Pat O'Donnell doesn't make the NFL, someone should convince him to play rugby.

6'4, 220lbs, 4.64 40, 23 Reps of the Bench, 30.5" Vertical jump.

Looks like a fullback to me. I bet he played Linebacker in highschool as well with that size.

This is how you need to do it in my opinion. Set up a Club Province World Ranking, similar to the IRB rankings. To do this, you would need to analyse the last five or so years of results. The league with the highest combined ranking would therefore be the best. Only issue is, games between SH and NH...

Or they pick the core of the team from the qualifying squad and a couple of the best players from the other two. Not that hard. I'd expect it would shake out that way anyway.

The question will be which Unions tap their XV's stars to play in the Olympics.
