Re: Judge slams Just Stop Oil protester after she asks for her trial to be delayed so she could FLY to India

I don't get this type of attack on the protestors. The plane is going anyway. Do you want them to burn yet more oil to go by car? Ah, but they could start a movement to end frivolous trips abroad by saying she had a VR vacation that she had to watch via a fixed-time stream in her student dorm there...

Re: Women’s WXV1 (NZ) Oct 28-Nov 4: Black Ferns v England @ Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland

Speaking of crowds, Quebec City turned out 3500 people on a week night for a women's university quarter-final. Home town crowd, but that's apparently their largest attendance figure ever. Friday night's semi against a powerhouse, with loyal (rich) traveling fans, will likely smash it, as will the fi...

I'd have thought the real 7 stages are: 1. Shock ... that the ref/ARs/TMO all didn't see what you just saw 2. Denial ... waiting for the slo-mo replay or even going back if your telly allows 3. Anger ... at how even among the top 10 World Rugby refs, Dixon/O'Keefe/Peyper are allowed to take charge 4...

More ammo to just ban jackaling.

Push over, shoulders above hips, until it's clear. Can't pick it up and play it immediately, then step over and heel it back.

[Yeah, I know, filed under: "Things that will never happen". World Rugby loves a jackal penalty rush-in from all corners circle jerk.]

Good points. Something simple like moving the offside line back might just work - the only thing I’d consider borrowing from league I have the feeling it was tried in NZ and abandoned mid-trial? Am I mis-remembering? If not, I envision it'd be so difficult to manage without ARs being very strict......

Re: Is this the end of Rugby?

It's become apparent that the rules and officiating have taken the game down the slippery slope of being damn near unwatchable. Surely this spells the end of the greatness of this game. Whereas you can have a team that plays only one back reserve winning a RWC final, because officiating can reduce ...

I should put my name in to be a pro coach in Wales. I'd teach them to put a shoulder onto a body (waist or legs) when tackling rather than just standing tall and using arms. Maybe even move on to passing the ball around rather than relying on crash balls.

As mentioned, you'd have to do away with interpretation totally, and that'd include mitigation or materiality. Fans would likely be more annoyed with that.
