The Portugal - Georgia game was great but you could probably bring it down to 16 teams and it would make for a more entertaining tournament.

Get rid of automatic qualifications for all teams but the host and bring the Lions tour to the first year of the cycle. Have baseline qualification regions as Europe, Africa, Americas and Asia/Pacific. Year 1: B&I Lions tour. Standard tournaments like RC, 6N, and July/November tours. Preliminary qu...

In 2003 Australia beat Namibia 142-0.
20 years later Namibia lost to France 96-0.
This grim.

It's a case of 'be careful what you wish for' with SF and the lefties who encouraged this during austerity. I'm sad not to have seen Paul Murphy involved as a victim, just this once I might have turned a blind eye . That's pretty shitty. I saw that Brian Garrigan chap wandering around the crowd wit...

Re: Rugby NAMA thread Revisited Rugby
It would appear that SF have been sitting on a vacant house in Carlow for the last 5 years, refusing to spend the money to get it into a habitable state, and trying to off load it onto the local council. Does this make them landlords ? Or , worse still, rapacious developers using the 'housing crisi...

The reporting over the polls is hilarious. So, in other words 'FFG' (as SF supporters love to use) are 6% points ahead ? Before you add the Greens. All of these polls, as they have been for the last two years, are just doing the margin of error 'hokey-cokey'. 'Senior hurling' will start with the ne...

Sure you'd fancy anyone on that side of the draw with the exception of the English. The English will only get more confident after they steamroll Chile, put a bonus on Samoa and probably win their quarter at a canter. It would sicken your hoop.

Wing... The answer is wing. It's the position anyone almost anyone on the team can fill in in an emergency, as long as you're not completely slow and fat. This. If you're coaching a team at lower levels you stick the guy who has never played before on the wing in front of you and you can talk him t...

Distance and time Fellow host Ciara Kelly said a "romanticised notion" of rebels and rebellions was an inevitable part of the aftermath of the Good Friday Agreement. Melbourne wasn't hosting, they wanted to build new facilities in Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo etc. Why not just take it to Melbourne then. Although the facilities might be very beneficial to those rural cities. Cancelling is a cheap political stunt. Isn't hosting it just an expensive political stunt?
