Re: Scotland vs New Zealand Official Match Thread
Scotland need to be 15 points ahead before 70mins I think. NZ will have a purple patch at some point, they can't be this poor for the full 80 shirley.

Re: Scotland vs New Zealand Official Match Thread
Well I'm going for the keeweez against any NH side ... but I had hoped the Scots would make a battle out of it. I hope this doesn't continue all game or it's going to be a cricket score. I tried telling the Kiwis that this would be a walkover a few times this week but they claimed Scotland would be...

Amazed he got given a Tier 1 international given his general performance though.

Connors, TBF. Been injured, though. And Penny. And I'd rate Deegan or Doris "filling in" as better 7's than Timoney as well. Connors has been injured for 2 seasons and has only just came back and Penney has never played anything other than URC/Pro14 so you have nothing what so ever to base him bein...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
We’ve opened as 14 point favourites for next week on Paddy Power. I’d be stunned if we got near that. It might be a wide margin in terms of reality but in terms of Irish expectations, we should be winning well next week. So I think its a fair enough call by PP, although I'll probably not back it :l...

Re: Irish poaching Saffer players
Leinster schools are mainly fee-paying so have bucket loads more money than Ulster's. Only Campbell in the Ulster list is fee-paying.
Plus only 2 of the Ulster schools are boys-only. Am I right in saying all Leinster rugby schools are single-sex?

Sorry realised O'Toole is Leinster born, bred in Aus but schooled in his later years at Ulster, and went through Ulster's academy but you get my point . . . .

Of all the criticisms you could throw Treadwell's way, I don't think being lightweight is one of them. Rugby IQ maybe, but he's a big unit that sat down a few Fijians today.

Re: South Africa vs France Official Match Thread
Its a red based on precedent but its a silly law imo. Basically if someone jumps to catch the ball you must be in the air or you must allow him to catch it. Even though you can't see them because you are watching the ball in the air. . . . Baffling. Unless you're a bit thick, it's very simple. If t...

Re: Irish poaching Saffer players
This isn't a poach, he's not coming to eventually play for Ireland. It's a transfer I see absolutely nothing wrong with. This is professional sport. And it makes out that the Irish just go and buy our way due to not having a salary cap which is bollocks. We have amongst the highest home grown squad...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
So can Italy make themselves a threat to France and NZ in the WC? Even if they were enough of a threat that both had to play more 1st team players against them it may help us in the QF. I only saw the last 10mins of the Italy game but they looked sharp against the Aussies, who looked like a rabble....

Its physical out there. Need to keep Ringrose fresh for next week, get Crawley on at 10, Joey 15 and JOB to 13.
Would also like to see Doris, Beirne and Furlong off sooner rather than later.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Don't get the slagging of the women's game every time it comes up. Men's game is in great shape so it's not even like we're sacrificing much to fund it. And plenty of money thrown at stuff in the men's game in the past that took a long time for payback (Connacht). I think the issue is that the arti...
