Those headlines can be great. After Mike Brown had 'accidentally' stepped on Tommy Taylors face a month ago I found this one online -

"England fullback is sent off for pounding Wasp whore Tommy Taylor’s face".

Is this a club tradition or a new innovation by Borthwick to keep the players happy?

Is Billy still No 1? Dombrandt in with a shout?
Zac Mercer is buggering off to France, so presumably he's out. Simmonds with the Lions.
A return to Nathan Hughes? Mark Wilson to 8? Tom Willis?

Be interested to know what you boys think the likely pecking order is.
There are plenty of options tbf. Willis and Chick are both decent young 8s behind the others on the fringes that Jones isn't a fan of picking like Simmonds and Dombrandt. Don't expect to see Wilson or Hughes there any time soon.

Exeter are likely to lose both Ewers and Skinner for the play offs

Ewers has now been cited for contact to the head to join Skinner's red card for the same offence

It's a complete mystery how Ewers managed to get away with a yellow in the first place. With force, from distance, and never lowered himslef for contact - direct contact - with the head.

Mainly because Karl Dickson is a twat and talked it down to a yellow.

Dickson seems too reluctant to hand out reds, its the 3rd or 4th citing when he has bottled it

There was nothing he could do other than give Skinner a card. His whole attitude then changed, and he was determined to send off someone from Sale. Exter gave penalty after penalty when under the cosh in the first half - three in a row from Sale after the red card, and Curry got binned.

With some good fortune, they won't be needed for the final anyway.
fwiw I don't think he would have red carded Skinner if he'd already given one to Ewers.

Thanks - pretty much what I'd have assumed but a couple of players there that I have very little knowledge of.

I assume George Martin is injured.

Harlequins’ Joe Marchant and uncapped trio Alex Dombrandt, Jack Kenningham and Marcus Smith join the squad after winning the Gallagher Premiership final last weekend.

Exeter Chiefs’ Henry Slade has also been called up, while Wasps’ Gabriel Oghre has returned to the squad after being involved in the first training week. The squad includes 23 uncapped players. Chunya Munga is in camp as an apprentice player.

Ollie Sleightholme was unavailable for selection after suffering concussion in training.

Jones said: “This is the third and final phase of our selection. We have a squad here full of talent and potential, with 23 uncapped players who have the chance to make their England debut.

“We’ve had two good weeks working and training hard and now we look forward to seeing how far we can go.”

Both matches are live on Channel 4.

Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith will make his eagerly awaited England debut, with Gloucester's Lewis Ludlow captain against the United States on Sunday.

The pair are among eight uncapped players in the starting XV, with 11 England internationals in South Africa with the British and Irish Lions.

Head coach Eddie Jones says the game at Twickenham is a chance for players to "make their mark with England".

Prop Ellis Genge will be vice-captain and Sam Underhill starts at flanker.

Underhill missed the 2021 Six Nations because of a hip injury but returns alongside Ludlow and uncapped Newcastle number eight Callum Chick in the back row.

Bristol scrum-half Harry Randall also makes his England debut, as does Leicester full-back Freddie Steward.

Sale hooker Curtis Langdon and Leicester prop Joe Heyes join Genge as they make their first appearances in an England front row.

Josh McNally makes his international debut in the second row alongside Bath team-mate Charlie Ewels.

Outside centre Henry Slade is the most capped player in the side with 38 caps and is alongside Ollie Lawrence at 12.

Nice team. He's really putting the pressure on Curry. Ludlow captain as well.

You pick a strong England side against strong opposition to put pressure on players

Dreadful handling from existing caps. The debutant are massively outperforming them.

Always good to see Bracey and get a reminder about how much he hates England.

Randall kicking too much and pretty poorly.

Shane we didn't see more of Lawrence in the centre and the 6 2 split not locking great.

USA 14 is getting monstered out there. Poor lad, he's all over the place

Yeah, same old Eddie nonsense. Randall and Smith and we kick...

Smith shifting the ball on too much, needs to commit more defenders.
