 so Fargo autocorrects to Frog ! anyway, watched episode 3 last night ; really getting into it ; also enjoying the irish influence - Jessie Buckley is excellent and directed by Dearbhla Walsh

It's dreadful. How many cliches can you pile into 1 series?

Kate Winslet trying to prove that she's a serious actress by not wearing makeup. Every family has a drug problem. Lesbian daughter. Beer with every meal because that's what rust-belt American loser families do. Scandi colour palette. Clerical sex abuse. Confusing obnoxiousness with character depth.

How Jean Smart got conned into playing the one-note grandmother after her lead in Watchmen....?

It's unremittingly awful.
You've just peaked my interest...
Outstanding show. Ken Loach meets Amercian soap mystery thing. Winslet is phenomenal.

Also didn't connect with the characters anywhere close to the characters in Gomorrah. Despite this it isn't a bad watch, but definitely not as good as I thought it would be.
Agree with this, liked the story from different angles but all in all it wasn't great.

Halfway through Snowfall season 4 and it is fantastic.

Watched "Time" on BBC last night,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/lates ... immy%20and

With Sean Bean as a ex teacher who get done for drunk driving and sent to prison for 4 years and Stephen Graham as a prison officer. It was surprisingly good found really hoping nothing too bad happens to Sean Bean character.

Bloody brilliant - it would have been great to have a show like this when I was a teenager. Much better information than the Porn Bush!

I watched the first episode and thought it was a bit meh but then before the end the two major 'heros' had a scene where they were drinking Prazdroj which is the original Pilsner Urquell (and you can get some retro bottles these days) and I was hooked.

I thought it was OK but would have worked better as more of a parody of the ethos of the old style heros. I felt like it didn't quite know what it was supposed to be.

It reminded me a bit of the movie 'Stranger than Fiction' which I thought had a nice premise and was expecting a good comedy and then watched it and realised it was serious and some feckin moron thought it was clever to treat it as such. I won't go into how much I hated that movie, but although hating it is subjective I could still easily do 10 pages on what was objectively wrong with it.

Just watched the first episode of Rose Byrne’s Physical on Apple TV. Finger on remote as they venture into a potential 3Some as our 8 year old was in the room drawing.

I didn’t quite catch one line so asked the wife. 8 year old son fills me in without looking up and says “Have fun sucking unemployed dick”.

Had me in tears.

Winslet was great and as if we needed any more proof, lilyw is a retard.

Only bad bit was the stupid daughter storyline but at least they managed compartmentalise the mandatory woke storyline off to the side.

This will be an odd thing to say, but what the hell: Winslet is one hell of an actress, but I just cannot warm to her. She'll be devastated to hear that I know, but I have little doubt that in a few decades she'll be the Dame Judy of her peers and worshipped universally - and deservedly so. Fine actress/actor, whatever.

But... :|

Lily is bang on with this one. It is like a bad parody of a scandi noir thriller. Cliche upon cliche and a plot with more holes in it than Swiss cheese. I got as far as the black police chief in episode 1 before realising it was written by a bunch of jokers. I actually laughed out loud in parts it was so preposterous. Seriously it’s only rated because we haven’t had any real quality in the past while. New season of succession is imminent so that should get things back on track.

No it wasn't.

The Leftovers was good entirely cause it didn't attempt to actually give an answer. Got better every single season, the 1st was considerably weaker than the rest.
