He's jumped into him like a goat and headbutted him.

On what basis are you arguing against a red card ?

Attempts a wrap, below head height. Slightly late, perhaps.

The guy on the end of it makes a meal out of it. The french have history of feigning injuries to get opponents sent off. Just like in the 2011 RWC semi, for example.

Nah. It was chest high, but it was a late shoulder charge.

Yeah, he's headbutted his chest. Irrespective of the timing of it, he's propelled himself airborne into the players chest using his head. I'm pretty sure you'd get pulled up on that when I was playing the best part of 20 years ago.

Nah. Slo-mo clearly shows it's neck and shoulder.

A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders.

If he'd been wearing a blindfold it would've been a reasonable first attempt.

Attempts one by getting his arms out to 747 wingspan shape by the time his head cannons into him but that's as charitable as you can get.

Tom Daley he ain't. It's red.

How about a purple card that signals not only do you have to leave the field, but also the stadium?

It only seems to be the poms and continental types that still enforce that shit. :frown:

Edit: Found it. It's a doozy alright.

Hope the receiver is ok.

Late, high, no arms or committed, shoulder high and some arms.

You could argue for both but the way it went down and looked. It was bad.

Everyone seems to have missed the fact the kicker was still in the air when tackled, add in all the other stuff and how can it not be a red

Excessive force. Penalty. Late. Penalty. Two penalties, a yellow.

That tackle was fine.

It technically breaks the not-flexible law against tackling a player in the air.

Sounds fair. He had no control whatsoever. In the end, lucky to hit only the chest and not the head.

Among the most obvious reds you'll ever see. No serious rugby fan would think that's even up for debate.

NZ country rugby ref: "Look mate, that was borderline. Another one, and it's a penalty. Okay?"
