100% mullet I was sort of standing up for him earlier in the week but the amount of penalties. Not what this final deserved.

Just dropping in to say hard luck Ulster, that was a very fun game though. Lot of potential there, and I think they will win the Pro14 in the next couple of years.

Hume's try was proper class, great way to open the match.

Agree about McCloskey. He has very sticky hands.

McCloskey has very little subtlety before being tackled and his highlights are generally because he's freed his hands in the tackle or broken the tackle. Something that is less likely against the better sides.

A little bit crude, but yes.

Shane Horgan was the same at 12 but was able to reinvent himself on the wing.

Congratulations to D4, we were well beaten tonight by a team that's pretty much better in every department. I hope you're all enjoying your smoked salmon canapes and prossecco, and get the draw you want when the car keys go into the fish bowl.

I am growing tired of this.

Agreed, thought Hume linked much better in contact the past two weeks than Stu ever has. Would like to see some combination of Marshall/Hume/Moore in midfield at some point, all can play both 12 and 13 as well

Stockdale just seems to have forgotten how to beat someone, always seems to go straight for contact now. Lyttle impressed a lot again tonight, would say him and Balacoune are now my first choice wingers.

Yeah fair point. Even I’m growing tired of it. It’s not a contest. Ulster has no chance. Having such an uncompetitive match is not good for anyone. I don’t know how they’re going to solve it but having one team just ridiculously dominant is not good for a league.

Ulster were doing alright until the Burns intercept. Leinster are by far the best defensive side in the league, always organised and just the right amount of playing the ref. Ulster panicked near the Leinster line and Leinster were clinical up the other end. It was frustrating to see Lowry picked at 15 and Stockdale moved back to the wing, and neither of them being given much time on the ball.

I guess Ulster might have had an eye on next weeks game but starting with Burns at 10 while the Mad Dog was warming the bench was an error.
You got to pick your very best team to have a chance against Leinster and Ulster didnt.

Leinster defense looks ready for Sarries.

The problem is their defense wont find that Leinster attack difficult to stop. A lot of improvement needed.

It worked for them as against Edinburgh.

Burns and Madigan are probably even enough in terms of ability anyway. Madigan's ceiling is probably higher, but his adventures around the world haven't helped him reach it.

Burns looks like he's injured his calf, it's massively strapped up.

As said before the game Leinster's ability to keep so many players in the defensive line while also being able to target specific rucks for turnovers just kills opposition attacks. Ulster got into attacking positions frequently and couldn't get anything from it, Ulster are incredibly wasteful in the opposition 22 at the best of times, nevermind against the best team in Europe.

Some of Brace's penalties against the attacking team though are mad, and he's now an international ref, Ulster conceded nearly double their average number of penalties ffs.

Stats don't make good reading at all for Ulster's attack or defence.

Ulster had approximately 60% possession throughout and 60% territory in the first half, 50% in the second.

The had more passes, more carries, for fewer metres, conceded more line breaks etc. And despite every other stat being similar (ruck completion, tackle completion and so on) we lost by 22 cúnting points. Okay so Leinster have the best defence in the league but Ulster's attack did not click at all bar the first try.
