Issues with the spouse

My wife can't load the dishwasher properly, she never loads it in the most optimal way. Always lots of wasted space: bowls on the top rack, no orderly placement of plates, other times bowls or cups are put in completely random places. Frustrating as hell. I find myself continually rearranging the cups, bowls, plates to make it more efficient. Just pisses me off. Sorry, but needed to vent.

Mine sticks in cooking pots that are too tall for the bottom rack and block the fan-thingy from rotating, so it doesn’t wash properly.

Every. F**king. Time.

Just wash them in the sink. Or leave it for me FFS.

Cooking pots? They take a moment to clean by hand and you get about 2 of them in max, as opposed to loads of other smaller things which would take ages to wash by hand.

my wife is the opposite. she is a nazi for fitting in things in an orderly fashion. my issue is she will load the dishwasher with Tetrus level precision but then never ever turns the fúcking thing on.

also has never refilled the rinse aid or salt

Not a wife thing (although she's not far from OP) but had to get a new dishwasher recently and was being shown some by the saleswoman. We have big plates so I got her to measure if they fitted. I kid you not, she measured from rack to bottom of upper rack. I had to point out to her that the plates needed to fit below the rotator.

Thankfully mine doesn't do that. She never turns it on though, that is always my job - after I reorganize it. At least she empties it though.

 I feel your pain, CanNZ! i have the exact same issue. Dumps the cutlery in the (very top) cutlery shelf, in a big messy pile, meaning items often stick down impeding the top rotator, and so water can't get to a lot of it. Points the important parts of the bowls, dishes, etc away from the center so they don't get a good spray... sigh. She has clearly not read my detailed 75 page manual on how to do this!

Good point, have the same issue here if she turns it on before I have had a chance to review her organizing. At least she has never turned it on without putting the soap pod in first. Thank god for small miracles.

Yes. But you raise good point. She only empties if I haven't gotten around to it. It's much more likely to be me.

This is my life. The only thing my wife does wrong with the dishwasher is putting in some cups the wrong way round and they fill with scuzzy water.

I'm really struggling to make out the euphemism.

We've got racks and rearranging cups but I'm lost after that.

I make the wife do them by hand while standing next to the dishwasher and tease her by putting a dishwasher cleaning tablet sitting on top of the bench above it.

I sometimes make dishwasher cleaning noises from the couch as she does it while I am watching TV

More tenor that can slip into bass, as I am kind of manly and butch, while wearing the trousers in our relationship

After the wife failed miserably and I got stuck with it, I knew I had to change tactics and approach from a different angle so I trained the daughters to do it. They'll make very fine wife's for some lucky fokors one day.

Whoever presses the start button on the dishwasher in our house is the one who's done the dishes.
I could scrape of the excess put the soap in the tray and say to her right just the lunch stuff to go in afterwards, but no she has to press the button.
In her mind it means she has done the dishes.
