Everyone wants to beat the World Champs but give Boks an extra week

Post by ZuluBoy »

I know everyone wants revenge on the World Champs or beat them.
Fact is though Boks are not prepared for the RCs.
Therefore why don't they let only 3 teams play each other. Nz, Oz and Argies. The winner of these 3 can then play the World Champs in a final.
This will give the Boks an extra 2 or 3 weeks to prepare and train as all sport are under suspension in sa due to covid.
In 2 or 3 weeks the diezel engines the likes of Marx Koch Malherbe Etzebeth Mostert Kolisi or Kwagga Pieter-Steph du Toit and Vermeulen will start firing again. Backliners like Kolbe Am de Allende will be quicker firing they just need a week.

Whilst it sounds like a good idea, the other 3 teams would never agree, also it would mean that the Boks get less revenue share

Like the obscene word poster mdaclarke. They simply don't understand because they all have rugby allowed. The World Champs have other hurdles to overcome such as suspension on sport and overseas travel. Your'e quite right in the financial implication of the Boks only playing in the final. Not sure Boks are after the cup or cups. They have the WC and need this only to prepare for the Lions tour which will bring in more revenue and is of more prestige for Boks than being thrown in a competition where others teams will have an unfair advantage.

They will get to play 3 domestic games, then they go into camp where they will play an in-house game or two (if they are sensible) and then they will in all likelihood play Argentina who are just as undercooked in the 1st round. That's 5-6 games and a whole lot of training to get match fit. Not to mention the fact that the overseas based Boks have been playing over the last month or so. This is being exaggerated a fair bit.

Do the world champs really want to go straight to a final? Won't they be worried if they don't have the safety net of being able to get their losses out of the way in the pool, I mean round robin stage?

New Zealand got their loss out the way before the final too.

Looking back at the WC the pool loss surely helped the Boks. They introduced the bomb squad thereafter where a second set of forwards were preparing on their own for a second half replacement. Unfortunately Wolrd media, think it was a nz media posted a video where Mapimpi was shown to stay away from this group as he inadvertently walked into them after being replaced and world media deemed the Boks Racists and demanded an answer. The coach then had to explain he was preparing a bomb squad and Mapimpi was a back, not a forward and it had nothing to do with racist. One of the forwards showed him to take his place on the bench and not to join them bomb squad and Mapimpi on the World media press conference with his coach admitted his mistake in walking to the wrong group. So Boks tactic were exposed

😂

Stop hiding behind ‘we are the world champs’ bs

The boks have only won one game in the last 10 vs nz..There was no unfair advantage then

In order to get a little respect and a ‘final’ you might need to show just a modicum of consistency

Boks consistency is not in these multiple Cups but they do show consistency in the World Cup
1987-1981 banned from competing in it
1995 Winners at its first shot at it straight out of isolation
2007 Winners
2019 Winners
Therefore boks will still compete in the RCs by the look of things but their focus is to use it to prepare for the B+I Lions tour in SA next year and the 2023 WC

It’s hardly hiding, they are the World Champs, as much as that might hurt, it is indeed a fact, get over it or get help

The boks are way behind Nz and there a hell of a lot more to rugby than world cups

But on that note the boks haven’t beaten nz in a World Cup this century after 3 attempts

The boks have only won 3 games out of the last 20 vs nz.. even your ex coach rassie thinks you lack consistency and the abs are the benchmark

Consistency isn’t winning a rwc every 12 years and bugger all else, also helps when you don’t lose to Japan and get smashed 57-0

Am over it -they deserved to win it

The issue I have is bok fans talking smack about how we should all bow before them when in reality they’re not that good

I’d much rather have a go at the English-they’re the only ones that actually beat us -and beat us easily

Yes England made it look easily. England dominated nz's forward pack and AB wingers looked short of power and speed on the day
