Let's ignore the reffing for a second. Both teams played well. Good to see an amazing crop of youngsters coming through for both teams
👍🏼 Both coaches trusted their kids.

Like So'oialo in 2006 at Rustenburg, this game is going to stick with Reiko Ioane for a long time. Blew a defensive read for a try and threw the ball away over the line.

The handling in the 2nd half was outstanding considering the conditions.

Good game.

You don't read many match threads then?

The ref wasn't bent, BTW. He was guilty of watching instead of reffing and seemed to forget his whistle a few times.
He could always look an an old AB loss thread

You haven't seen a match thread with as much whinging about the ref because a ref hasn't been that biased since the Saffers in the 70s. It was bad. He was so obviously looking for All Black get out of jail cards at the end.

Hard luck Wallaby fans. Your team played better and deserved the win. The AB's would have been better off losing, the draw will allow Ian Foster some breathing room and help paint over some huge cracks in this All Black camp. That's the worst I have seen the AB's play in NZ in my life.

I didn't see the game. The ABs can't be worse than the losses they had against the Wallabies in NZ during the 98-02 period surely.

Won’t blame the ref. He was poor but it went both ways.
And we shouldn’t have let him have a chance to decide anyway.
It was some poor kicking decisions, terrible set piece that cost us.

Sorry I don't listen to South Africans when it comes to referees. You've lost the right to ever complain about referees after boasting and gloating about 20-1 penalty counts.

Would agree, they was quite the worse AB outfit I've seen in a while, got a draw so high fives I guess though they will need about 180% improvement next weekend to face a resurgent Wobs outfit.

Too early to give the head Coach the arse?

Err nope

Bit of bantz between the lads. I defended the ref three posts up

However, you pulled the trigger before you got the gun out of the holster. Poor form.

He kept NZ in it but we left a try and to conversions off the scoreboard. Great thing is we had a second wind instead of folding. A great base to build from for Rennie.
Next week will be tougher than today though for us.

Only positives from that is we had no ball and possession and managed a draw, and Caleb Clarke. If he gets the ball in the last couple of plays on the line, he scores.

A few of the most crucial calls were missed by Angus, IMO.

Feel for Australia. My wife and I were willing that kick of Hodge’s to go over. A lot didn’t go their way and we were lucky with some of our tries.

In saying that, in the ABs camp, Ioane will be feeling a proper pork chop right now.

All Blacks 42- Lolstralia (Australia) 10.
I think the All Blacks will put on 50 + at Eden park though.

Looking forward to seeing The Allblacks show Dave rennie out to be what he really is - " Lolave Lolennie" (Dave Rennie). Just an average coach from some random Bush that acts hard so some farmboy nutters think hes good.

Oh and imagine the funniest part of lolstralia's anthem for players must be when they go "advance Australia fair". Hahahaha. Why not all them bring a sandpaper each and jump whenever they say that. Either that or change it to cheat. Just too funny to have lolstralia's anthem have the word fair on it.
Lmao.

Pretty much how I saw it too.
Ref made mistakes but both ways, tried to allow a flowing game but can't say more one way than the other.
Lineout for most of the game and scrum at times was the reason Oz didn't win.

Despite the Ioane cock up the ABs has their chances to win that game. Would be unfair to point the finger at Reiko and not at McKenzire also for gifting the Wobs their 2nd try.

A good blowout for both teams ... the ABs will be really fires up in Auckland now ... can this Wobs outfit back up after failing to secure a critical first up win?

Spot on. Ref was poor in parts, thought the game was a little too quick for him. Maybe out of his depth?

Having said that, both sides with a little more composure could have won that. Drop kicks out f fashion?

That last penalty kicked for NZ was a result of a scrum push by NZ in which the Wobs scrum went backwards and disintegrated. Exact same thing happened the previous scrum for Aust but the ref shouted he can't give a penalty because the Wallabies can play the ball. Crooked ref

Crooked Aussie ref Gardiner missing Ioane’s foot on the touchline? :?

It’s a tough game to ref. I think it was a bit beyond them at times today, no matter their nationality.
