Disgraceful arrogance from the Pumas in thinking NZ isn't good enough for their first string side.

Nah, the ABs do it every game. They literally invented the head pat and face slap. Don't get me started on the cha-hoo.
We’ve had entire series with zero niggle. You guys can’t go 8 mins.
Fixed for yay mr bungle ;)

Yes, the only thing worse than that would be to lose to them. Quite possible if the ABs play with as little guile and purpose as the last 2 weeks. Something seriously wrong if we don't see a variation in tactics.

Thats hardly a bad Argie side. The back 3 are excellent, as is De La Fuente at 12.

The only guys I'm not immediately familiar with are Mallia, Medrano, and Paulos.

From a nz perspective I hope foster has learnt that jordie isnt a starting winger

Hopefully our forwards especially are up for this ..they were totally outplayed last week as a unit

I want to see forwards getting over the advantage line and backs (ie: Mounga esp) innovating with potentially poor quality ball; maybe kicking in behind with those spiffy kicks he's good at.

This is the most importannt match of the year after Eden Park.

The three of them have been around Jaguares since last year.

Mallía is 24 and has 5 caps. He was the "surprising" selection in last year's RWC squad and played as OC in the last match against USA, where he scored twice

Medrano is 24 and has 20 caps already, mostly off the bench.

Paulos is 22, and this would be his first cap.

The backrow and the back three could be spectacular.

Good to have De La Fuente back.

Places where coverage is rather shallow are hooker and lock... not having Lavanini around means the rotation has to include a rookie.

Ezcurra is a step behind Cubelli and Bertranou IMHO, but not too shabby.

Imhoff definitely out for the rest of the tournament. Torn left hamstring.

Carfer was asking me about a fellow argentine poster, Julian. We haven't heard about him since he posted in July, in the Coronavirus thread, that there was a positive case in his family...

He's a damn sight better than Paul Williams, mate. Just be thankful he'll never ref the ABs.
What happened last weekend? I missed the PowerPoint.
I'm sure the GAGR guys will put one together. But Zakar is right. He lost control of the match for a bit there...dude falls into the trap of just watching and not reffing. Nothing particularly galling but there was a lot of niggle.

Stuff like this wasn't addressed at all.

All the Kiwi and Australian refs, except for Gardner, are not top tier, in my opinion.

Even Gardner is prone to shitting the bed from time to time. The first half of NZ v Argentina was a lesson in brainfart decisions, IMO.
Gardner went straight up stupid in the first half. Then the ABs decided to play even bigger stupid.

Cody Taylor needs to sort his f**king line out throwing. How many have we lost? Give me the shits.

Anything less than an absolute bollocking of the Pumas will be a loss as far as I'm concerned.

He signed a contract with Toronto Arrows of the MLR. As far as I know, he didn't have any serious injuries in the last couple of years but - although he was part of Ledesma's first list of 59 players for 2020 - he never managed to recover the level we saw him to be in his best years.

It seems that a coach buried inside Foster wants to make major changes to the ABs, bringing in a bunch of younger players as he works to build a team for 2023, but the old fart Foster keeps getting in the way.

So, S Barrett back and A Ioane in, past discretions forgiven I assume to try and make more headway on the gainline; yet no Laumape, apparently the most difficult man in NZ to tackle. And Frizzell gone, so he's paid a price. But no McKenzie, the ABs most unpredictable attacking weapon while Jordie remains on the right wing. Do hope we see Jordan.

I am really struggling to see the logic in this selection, can anyone else?

2 really long-shot predictions: A Ioane will bend the Arg defensive line, and TJ will come on and show a greater variation in tactics around the ruck that will help the AB cause. Also AB scrum will make a difference.

Interesting team - a lot of pressure on:

- foster - got to win to put stop to noise (wouldn’t want to have months of disquiet about his role). Blowout - to Arg - would see lose role IMO.
- RMo - by no means losses his fault - but he’s not stood up either. Needs a strong game otherwise I think BB gets the mid next time.
- Jordie - I don’t think he should be a wing (he’s not) but for me last chance for this experiment.

Backrow balance is interesting- not sure this is right - but individual performance means Cane is ok almost regardless of result (unless a blow out to Arg).

Love to see - more from ALB and Goodhue on attack - please, something.
May see - RMo off - TJ and BB halves

All the wrong 'Canes players , IMO, Plumtree?
Agree with Coles starting however would have Ardie & Barrett as the super subs. Jordie, as much as I like him not in the squad, would've given Havili a run at 15 & BB able to cover 10 or 15 if necessary but I'd leave Mo'unga on full game if possible. Would fvck off Reiko for Laumape in the reserves.

Agree our bench impact has been shit lately. Beauden and Ardie back to their best positions 20 and 23.

He's not and I'm guessing it's because of HIA? Was just saying what I'd like to have seen.

I don't see how he's under any pressure, clearly the right wing spot is his regardless of performance and suitability.

It used to be that luke Whitleock was the luckiest dude to ride his brothers coat tails, but Broden's bros have ridden his pretty well considering once not a wing and the other is a straight up idiot who has cost us two tests against Australia and inadvertently cost us the match against Eng in the RWC because the previous coach also had a case of Barrett Fever.

Don’t know if I would go that far but yeh can’t understand being picked at 14- he’s surely not going to be
the starting winger going foward

Kg -Re. Rmo / Barrett - barrett only started once and he was rubbish vs Australia- at least rmo has had a few good games - also this is our last game of the year ..not sure if it’s a marker for who will start at 10 but rmo is the incumbent 10 now and deservedly so
