During the past two years there is not much between these 2 teams. Nz by 4 last year and Arg by 10 this year
Nz Rugby might regret kicking the Argies out of Super Rugby, might be an added motivation

As much as I might prefer the ABs to win everything and maintain unbeaten records etc, I'm loving the fact that we are heading into this game with the "if" in "if the ABs win" being a very serious consideration instead of polite diplomacy. It has often deserved that in the past, but was never really given it by many.

For mine this is Foster's test. He's had a look at what he's got, he's seen the opposition, he's had two weeks to prepare, the players have had plenty of time in camp and on the field together - the ABs should be humming for this game. I'll be joining the trolls and the nay-sayers with anything less.

The Pumas haven't run out of puff in either of their tests so far. In fact they appear to be immune to fatigue since returning from their 8 months of isolation, running all over both the AB's and the Wallabies in the closing stages of both tests.

Really need the full points and deny Argentina a losing bonus .

If we manage to win the trinations it's not too bad as we would have all the trophies we competed for in 2020.. despite a couple of pretty terrible performances.

A lot of changes are coming for this game, maybe even 10 or 12. The premise was, due to the little rugby played this year by the 2/3 of the squad, to practice a monolithic defense (implemented by Juan Fernandez Lobbe), counterattack, when possible, and try to be competitive in the tournament. Probably, the 15 who enter have a good defense and can stay in the game for 60 minutes, perhaps, and wait for "the cavalry" (starters of the first two games). I don't see them winning this game, but I do see them facing the gale of darkness.

Even Gardner is prone to shitting the bed from time to time. The first half of NZ v Argentina was a lesson in brainfart decisions, IMO.

I commented on that hair pull on the match thread. I think that’s more the TMO’s job to analyse and report on something like that. I don’t disagree with Sensible Step Hen re: the state of Anzac refs. Gardner the best but not always so.

Williams should have done his homework pre match. Although many games have niggle, plenty of teams get through a whole match with zero from both sides. NZ have played entire series with the likes of Wales with none. You will not find a test match with the Wallabies free of niggle, no matter how poor the team they are playing and how dominant they are. Not sure why, just an observation.

Australia always do. Maybe that’s from being mid pack for a while. Not dominant enough to even keep the minnows at bay.

NZ can be niggly. But at least they can get through 80mins many times a season without it. Australia can’t.

Months of training without having the grind of playing games helps. One of the reasons a decent off season can see top guys seemingly pull up trees when they start back up
