Uncle FB is one of those aniti LNP nay sayers who would rather shit himself and die before admitting they had ever doing anything good.

He can get wallow in his bullishit, and congratulate himself for meaningless crap, but the Burnett institute has, overnight, confirmed that the Victorian super -de duper lockdown has a resulted in a lockdown peak of ....

1500- 2000 plus cases in late October.

Oops. Let the deflecting and dan-0-denying begin.

You do realise, after all the lefty bullshit about numbers you can't just shrug this off, right?

The ability to count isn't necessary depending on your postcode. I can almost guarantee that if we were to see scenes out west in a park similar to that of Bondi yesterday the police response would less restrained
Agree, but I was hobnobbing with the innerwest toffs as Bondi is outside my 5km.

Although as we were picnicing we realised that two of our five may have actually broken the rules because although the park we were in was within their 5km they actually had to drive out of it for a portion to get there. They live just over the bridge and most of their 5km radius is water.

Don't worry - I drove into the ACT illegally last year - they had restrictions but you can't actually drive back from Queanbeyan via Bungendore without clipping the border.

No Roadblocks though

A question for Sydneysiders. I heard today on the news that restrictions have eased a bit across Sydney, and you can have a picnic with 5 people if they're all vaccinated. My question is how are the police enforcing this? How are they checking if people are vaccinated?

Good numbers for Sydney. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that since NSW Health stopped contact tracing (except for high risk environments such as aged care facilities) that the case numbers have declined every day.

Wow, it really looks like Sydney numbers have peaked (for now). If they can maintain this they would be very happy, but they may spike up again as people are out and about more. Vaccinations are clearly having an impact.

The testing numbers are still high. Which suggests at least to me that they're likely catching most of the symptomatic new infections.

There was no enforcement where I was and as noted above the 5 person limit was ignored by many groups.

I'm wondering what the Government has told business that it's not telling us.

Hamilton is taking bookings for it's shows in October

They have told them that pubs/restaurants/venues can open on or about Saturday 16 October - fully vaxxed passport holders only. ;)

I know this because reasons.

Great news again today on the NSW vaccination front.

Yesterday, no less than 50,842 persons received a first jab, and a wopping 80.941 received their second dose, making up for a slow Monday when they were only about 20k of each.

Better still, the projected dates are shortening further -

70% full vaxxed is now expected on 9 October, and 80% on 19 October.

Whilst I am hanging for a pint in a pub, I'm not at all happy with the Meeja and Gladys talking up "Freedom Day" like the UK

It's not going to be back to normal until after Xmas at least

I appreciate you are worried about hospital staff stress, but see the latest figures:

https://covidlive.com.au/nsw

Hospitalised cases, ICU cases, and "vent" cases have been steady (+/- a few percent) for 6-7 days.

In the same period, even though we have had picnics etc, active cases have dropped by 1,521, which from a start of 14,299, is a significant fall. As hospitalisations tend to follow 2-3 weeks after initial infection, per Dr Chant et al, and fingers crossed infections have peaked, the science says we can expect to see the hosp/icu/vent numbers start to follow in about a week because -

(a) the vaxxed/double vaxxed % continues to climb and that reduces hospitalisations amongst the infected; &

(b) less people are getting infected.

If you are talking about vaxx refusers ... you did say yourself they would become a statistical irrelevance.

And covid live just put up the figures for today (22/9 at 4pm update)

Another 49,275 first doses, and 82,887 second doses - a slight increase on yesterday.

70 % double vaxxed predicted date is now 7 October, and 80 % is now 17 October.

The 4pm update on covid live was again excellent in terms of vaccine reach - in total, 125,615 jabs, of which 78,130 were second doses, and only a bit under 50k were first timers.

The projection % dates reported yesterday have firmed up at 7 & 17October as previously indicated.

The other good news is that although there were 1,064 cases reported, active cases reduced by 377; and although hospital cases increased - by 12, or about 1% - to 1244, both ICU cases, and ventilator cases, went down 4% and 9% respectively.

The modeling is starting to look pretty good.

More excellent news today, NSW is ahead of the curve in terms of easing restrictions, and the vaccine numbers continue to increase - despite chicken little (AC) spruiking the false news party line being pushed by the ABC/ALP cohort about vaccine shortages. There were 126,728 jabs in NSW today, 1,000 more than the 4pm figure yesterday. The national figure for day was a record 347, 796 jabs. So much for the alleged shortage, AC.

On today's update the dates contracted again - they came in a day to 70% vaxxed on 6 October, and 80% on Saturday 16 October.

Double vaxxed cabal?

The shortage is coming up in October, and it won't be felt in NSW. Only the Labor led states.
