I will be stunned if NSW are right on top of this. I have this awful feeling that there are many many cases out there that are missed.

It's either that or this virus just isn't as transmissible in the heat?
I'm not suspicious that NSW are tampering with the data, but then again I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
I don't believe any data is being tampered with, my concern is that there are so many asymptomatic cases possible and with the width of this outbreak across the city, that there may be many many many cases that are not being tested and this will continue to spread (until it goes bang!). Even if they tested 80 000 people per day, that is in a city of over 5 million. It would take over 2 months to test everyone.

I am still very nervous about Sydney.

That's amazing.
When I heard it earlier on the radio apparently there were two cases that just missed the reporting deadline.

Whether that means "conveniently missed" or just "missed, bummer", I don't know enough info' to judge.
Yes, NSW Health measures cases from 8pm to 8pm every day, but they aren't announced until 11am the following day. So there is quite a bit of time for new cases to arise but they won't be included in that day's data.

Also NSW counts the number of tests that have been undertaken, whereas Vic Health measures test results that have been completed and returned by pathology.

Will be interesting to see how many of those are members, and how many are general admission tickets. I guess with the 25% capacity, all sections/stands will be a quarter full?

It will be interesting to see if Dan and his team get as savaged about holding the Australian Open as Gladys has copped about the cricket.

Not really, it's pretty predictable that the anti-LNP faction here will come up with excuses.

Barilaro leaking to the media that today's case numbers will be good. What's the point of having an 11am press conference if your idiot Acting Premier is going talk about the umbers prior.

Also just watched a surreal segment on Sky News where Albanese was being attacked by the acnhor for questioning the delay in getting the vaccine to Australia. The anchor then celebrated Scott Morrison's sensible and cautious delay before switching to a cut of Scott Morrison attacking Albanese for being "reckless" and saying that there were "logistical" things that needed to be organised before a vaccine could be rolled out across the country. This is the same PM that repeatedly boasted that Australia was at the "front of the queue" for a vaccine over the last 6 months.

Yesterday's was held after the press conference in Sydney. But they've already released their daily data, they do so at 8am QLD time (9am Vic time) every day. 3 new cases today.

4 new locally acquired in NSW. 3 connected to the Berala cluster, and 1 connected to the Croydon cluster.

Has anyone heard how many tests were conducted?

Given that only 10,000 spectators are now allowed to attend, surely just playing sans spectators is the way to go? Why risk anything given we are only talking about a very small number of people anway? Pride? Principle?

Brad Hazzard copping a bit of a grilling about the fact that there isn't yet a testing site in Berala. He quickly curtails the entire press conference. As we saw in Melbourne, this virus spreads most quickly in lower socio-economic areas.

He is a spectacular lightweight combined with bully - pretty much LNP template.

After weeks of dithering on masks, he's now being bullish about fines.

So much angst and bile on this thread, yet on the Melbourne one, where Victorians are now locked out of their home state by the Labor government. Not a peep. Instead the poster criticising the government in that thread is accused of complaining, being a Murdoch mouthpiece, needing to log off etc.

It really shows the parochial partisan political nature of this bored. If your team is fvcking up, then the cheerleaders behave differently. Objective criticism is out the window. The one exception is Farva. He has expressed his dismay at what is happening in Victoria.

If that is true (and your assertion is unconvincing without, at least, a proper anecdotal study) why do you think that is? We can take all your assertions that it's all the LNP's fault as read, so what do you propose are the actual reasons?

It is interesting that you are using AC as the benchmark for your defence here. In part because none of the other parochial pinko marxists have actually ventured forth any opinion other than to have a crack at the poster that is making the posts.

It is remarkable too what people read vs what they want to read. AC first up denied that the lockout was even happening, claiming it was some confused journo, he then went on to blame the victims by posting some nonsense about what should they expect if they are taking holidays at a time like this. But you choose to use AC as the one pinko marxist that took a shot at Vic border closure return time, whilst happily ignoring all the denials and blame shifting? Here are his posts. You try hang your hat on the one in the midst of all that denial and blame shifting.

The Sydney test will have people even if its four simply out of principle, the government cannot take on the SCG Trust its far too powerful and has the likes of Alan Jones on its board, he simply tells LNP how its gonna be.
NRL showed that they led the decision making earlier in the year (Barilaro said the NRL was a religion and it gave every NSWelshman hope by playing games :uhoh: ) and the Trust will do likewise.

You're a problem if you're calling anyone who disagrees with you a pinko Marxist.

I personally think it sucks for Victorians who are returning, and that they should have been given more time (a couple more days) to get back and then had the cut off from then.

What are your thoughts on the disgrace that is happening in Victoria?
You're a problem if you're calling anyone who disagrees with you a pinko Marxist.

I personally think it sucks for Victorians who are returning, and that they should have been given more time (a couple more days) to get back and then had the cut off from then.
So you agree with preventing people from returning home?

I have ordered a set of extra large and fluffy pinko pom poms just for you.
You've lost the plot dude.
 Of course, I am the problem. Because I am speaking out.

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously...

If that is true (and your assertion is unconvincing without, at least, a proper anecdotal study) why do you think that is? We can take all your assertions that it's all the LNP's fault as read, so what do you propose are the actual reasons?
Wtf is wrong with you? Seriously. Why would this be anyone's fault?

In the Melbourne 2nd wave the virus spread more quickly in poorer areas. Reasons suggested were higher casualisation of the workforce (meaning workers didn't have sick leave, had multiple jobs or were not able to work from home), bigger households living in smaller houses and people from non-English backgrounds not accessing COVID-19 health warnings and updates as quickly or effectively.

Re-read what he has posted. He is in favour of a cut off. According to UncleFB it sucks for those caught up in this but if you shift the lock out by 2 more days then it isn't a problem anymore. 2 more days then you can prevent people from returning.

And in Sydney? Avalon is not usually considered lower socio-economic.

Did you even read my post before trolling? I was referring directly to the Berala cluster. Ffs.
