Just heard a news report on the ABC to the effect that it appears that cleaners at The Grand Chancellor Hotel have been a bit slack when it comes to wearing face masks.

Aren't people meant to wear masks out in public till the 24th, give or take a day?

0 new locally acquired cases in QLD. 4 new cases in HQ.

Really interesting that Palaszczuk has today said that the QLD govt is looking to stop HQ in Brisbane, and investigating using remote mining camps to house people who are being quarantined. Seems like a safer option to me.

The ABC is suggesting, altho' without confirmation from the Qld Premier, that a large workforce accomodation facility (1,392 rooms) at Calliope is in scope.

At about 20 km from Gladstone, it's not really the back of beyond.

That would be an ideal location. Lots of access to airports/hospitals etc but much less risk than housing these returned travellers in the middle of Brisbane. I know shanky has taken immense delight in trolling this idea, boasting about NSW's HQ setup in the process, but I think this will allow QLD to increase the numbers of people we can bring back from overseas.

A positive case of community transmission has been record in Brisbane today?

I assume Clogs has already tearfully demanded for an immediate state election in QLD and for Premier Palaszczuk to be publicly executed ?

Glad I had a night out on the weekend; looks like we're heading back into lockdown. Thankfully the federal government has already vaccinated 4 million people as they'd promised. Oh wait...

Have you been forced into lockdown yet?
Has the Gestapo kicked your door down for a Facebook post yet?
Have a squad of Stasi surrounded 2 elderly women and threatened to arrest them for sitting on a park bench yet?

Until then I suspect things will remain somewhat under control, so no need for public lynchings. Yet.

And when I say 'may have' I'm being a tad disingenuous since the can is already opened and neither is it the first.

Remember 6 months ago when Clogs was passionately arguing that we could have good health outcomes, or good economic outcomes, but you couldn't have both? And that was his rationale for demanding open borders, no masks and no lockdowns. How stupid does he look now given that globally the jurisdictions which have had the best health outcomes are all having the best economic outcomes as a result?

It is amazing the things people can recall when they reflect back on what has been said on here. I mean I recall a poster on here almost celebrating male rape, callously referencing anal rape to gleefully describe some unfortunate situation or sporting/political loss and using the misery and suffering of millions of HIV/AIDS sufferers to troll people on here. And don't get me started on the objectification and faeces related sex acts he/she so wilfully described of women he/she thought of as attractive.

It is remarkable to think this poster still has it in him/her to sit on a high horse and pontificate. I suppose the lack of self awareness and inability to understand nuance is the reason why?

Nope, had yet another covid test this arvo due to having visited a shopping centre the individual had been to.

Please note I am in no way implying he went shopping knowing he was covid positive.

Though I haven't had many issues with those I have offended my friends by starting too early, and going too hard, on the Goose Island Pale Ales in Canada. Packs a similarly strong punch.

Another positive local case in QLD today, who was a close contact of yesterday's positive case.

Part of our problem here is that we've had a big influx of positive cases from overseas, and this is impacting our hospital system. We currently have 71 positive cases in QLD< 69 of which are overseas returnees.

Apparently the 'party of 25' story has been exaggerated/misreported. QLD police are currently briefing the media and they are saying the story is incorrect.

One new case of local transmission today.

This lockdown has created a logistical challenge for mine and other local schools. Whilst we are open, we have a high number of staff who need to isolate due to having been in Brisbane since March 20th. Is going to be a hectic few days to finish term 1.

MOG will be angry, Dan will be terrified and working out how to ban anyone from Queensland getting into Victoria.

I just hope there aren't any Australian Tennis players that are from Queensland or NSW...
Hold on a minute ... I'm not the angry one here!

I even understand Australia & NZ's response: they're geographically isolated island nations going for a stategy of complete elimination no matter what the socioeconomic cost. The might be the right way to go. It might not be.

But I'm angry, don't try and flip that picture on it's head thank you very much.

You guys are the the angry ones. Angry and hysterical every time someone dare suggest you're not actually locked-down against the zombie apocolypse, or questions in any manner at all whether your nation(s) have taken the correct course of action. Wether right or wrong, I'm not angry at all. I'm slightly bemused if anything.
