Agree......go back to the Gold. It looked like a rugby jersey......not like the yellow hiphop uniform for teens......

Awesome!!!Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan saying the results will have a “major bearing” on what is selected.

It appears the older the better, with the top three – 1991, 1984 and 1999 – recording 77 per cent of total votes.

So you have no problems if they decide on black in a sort of Trump train of thought?grievous wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:04 amBig issue? Why is it an issue? That said John Eales is so wishy washy he doesn't even have an opinion....
Shirley it has to be gold for starters - not the stupid yellow of more recent.
With the Indig jersey as alternative strip ...
Eyeore - did they really engage anyone? Herald ran a poll, RA got a bunch of old boys and selected others to a dinner in Sydney and Brisbane. Top level engagement...Salient wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 7:43 pmSo you have no problems if they decide on black in a sort of Trump train of thought?grievous wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:04 amBig issue? Agreed with posters above, gold for the win ... with green piping.
Yes - but do you remember the speed of TMO decisions in SuperAu? It was rapid. 3x faster than test matches.kiwigreg369 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 11:07 pmEyeore - did they really engage anyone? Anyway - '91 won.
and in more interesting news apparently the old boys were talking about introducing the 'captains call' / 'review' into Super AU. My view - the game is (i) stop start as it is and (ii) two many infringements occur that could be called, but a missed or not called.
I don't think the game needs more delays, more TMO involvement. The game should be allowed to flow - mistakes will occur, but the overall number is low and i think we just need to live with it.
Also, the likes of Egon Seconds won't be reffing SuperAU.kiwigreg369 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 11:07 pmEyeore - did they really engage anyone? Nobody knows what that means.
The smart call is to wear your kid's junior club jersey
You are calling me eyeore and you are the one grumbling about rugby here being in the news? Talking about it? They very well might release a 'fans version' - what is basically an old school cotton version with the updated design. The brumbies have done it recently.Mog The Almighty wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:16 pm Agreed it's a huge improvement but the collar is shit. You'd think they'd get the message the the fans like the traditional ones and just go balls to the wall old-school like the scots and saffers have done on occassion in recent years.
It would sell like crazy but it seems these people who are probably getting paid crazy salaries to come up with these designs seemingly have no idea at all. As if it's just the colour.
But still, massive improvement. Can't complain considering what it could have been.
It doesn't count if the players aren't wearing it on the international stage.Zakar wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:25 pmThey very well might release a 'fans version' - what is basically an old school cotton version with the updated design. Where a retro version in a one off game versus Tonga or something (like the tahs did a year or so ago). Those jerseys are great to wear sitting around, but I trained in one the other day, and they are absolute dogs to wear for actual rugby once you're used to the light high tech versions.Mog The Almighty wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:27 pmIt doesn't count if the players aren't wearing it on the international stage.Zakar wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:25 pmThey very well might release a 'fans version' - what is basically an old school cotton version with the updated design. I played in one for twenty years and didn't notice any difference at all switching to the newer ones.Zakar wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:34 pmWhere a retro version in a one off game versus Tonga or something (like the tahs did a year or so ago). I played in one for about 10 before the switch. Its very noticeable in the pissing rain.Mog The Almighty wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:47 pmI played in one for twenty years and didn't notice any difference at all switching to the newer ones.Zakar wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:34 pmWhere a retro version in a one off game versus Tonga or something (like the tahs did a year or so ago). I don't know about you but I've got other things on my mind in the heat of the moment than a few extra grams of cotton on me.
And even if they think wearing a cyclist jersey will give them a 1% advantage, what does taking the collar off give you? 0.01%?
Yeah fair enough. I edited the post ... I'm probably just so old I can't remember.Zakar wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 10:54 pmI played in one for about 10 before the switch. Agreed on the collar though - can't imagine there is any difference.
