If my job was in the public domain, and I was bad at it, and chose to plunge into the public cesspit that is Twitter, then I would absolutely expect to be inundated with the harshest of criticism for the job I was doing.

Even if I thought I was great at it, the very least I would expect if cesspitting it, is for there to be a shedload of online critique knocking about.

She has SFA sense. She should come with her own road sign: cul de sac.

Weird to see loads of rugby types on Twitter - Jackman, Christian Day - sticking up for her.

Poor wee Sonja getting a hell of a shoeing on the BBC comments page. When will the penny drop with the BBC and herself that she is flippin dire.

Maybe Gabby (class presenter) can have a word with her and point her to the exit.

I not a fan of Sonja and her hairdcore interview style. I think she's awful same way I think John Inverdale is. It's not mysonginistic she's just shite. This would never happen to Sara Elgin. She would get way more from her subjects. It's rugby she's interviewing not war crimes
No need to make Sonja cry just be better

Was Inverdale the bloke with the rose-cvnted glasses? ... He'd at least get points for that.

I very rarely get to see anything of the 6N but even I know McLaughlin is crap.

None of this justifies hounding her on social media. That's just harassment and worse than simply not liking the job she does.
She should either be better at her job or not use social media or both. Orrr, not take criticism to heart and cry in her car like a girl.
She was called a bitch on this forum. That's not criticism, that's going to far. All because some people doesn't like her interview style FFS!

That is people telling her what they thought of her performance. Like people on here did too. It's what she's paid fudge loads of money to do.

Plus if she only wants positive feedback, then she surely shouldn't be using twatter.
Twitter is a cesspit of nasty people. That doesn't mean people who are victim to the cesspit aren't justified. In this case I'm pretty sure most people in her job e.g. entertainment and sport are kinda expected to have Twitter as part of their career. After all it's clear the pundits have to read twitter and they referenced comments on it at half time today.
She is crying because... She was criticised for... Criticising someone for doing their job.

Really? Crying in your car? REEEEEEALLY?

Nah, someway off the worst - she had the toxicity at max tbf but the general incompetence was dialed down.

She didn't mistake Owen Farrell for George Ford and she didn't ask Alun how good it was to finally get a win.

She does realise it but she is after the outrage - and then disingenuously cries about the outrage. She is knowingly playing a game here and she has the misogyny card right up her sleeve.

A good thread on the issue here:

https://twitter.com/thedeadballarea/sta ... 0219857920

In summary, Sonja shouldn't get abuse and certainly it's the BBC who should be criticized because they want these kind of interviews and they want the talking points of games, leaving their presenters vulnerable.
