That's a massive FUCK YOU to Fox who have been more than childish this last year. For a few months there they completely removed the "rugby" banner from their website. It's back now but down the list of sports. They are still publishing shit stories with a negative slant though.

The move to 9 and Stan has proved to be a complete masterstroke by RA. More people are watching the game now than 5 years ago and Stan has pretty much set the bar for sports streaming services. You bet your sweet bippy the NRL and AFL are watching what's happening right now. My brother in law is a dyed in the wool NRL man and was gobsmacked when I told him about the content on Stan.

Fox is dying although their Kayo and other online platforms are doing OK.

Foxtel has 3.5 million subscribers, but less than 2 million are residential and commercial subscribers. Kayo Sports had 851,000 paying subscribers and Binge, which launched last May, has 516,000 paying subscribers.

News Corp chief financial officer Susan Panuccio said Foxtel had refinanced their $650 million credit facility and extended maturity of that debt at a lower interest rate until May 2024.

“Foxtel’s resurgence during the pandemic, coupled with the continuing value of its broadcast product, the rapid growth of Kayo and Binge and a relentless focus on cost transformation have delivered a much enhanced financial performance that certainly gives us flexibility and optionality,” Mr Thomson added.

Worrying news is Lacchie Murdoch wants a stake in FTA.

Of course he does. What’s the point in having all that money if you can’t influence politicians? Murdoch loses money in media - he sold off everything that had value and just kept the stuff that enables him to keep politicians in line. That’s why the OZ govt made Facebook and google give him money.

Sadly, the bin fire that Murdoch helped start has now turned into something he can’t control.
