Hi Sir, just wanted to report an object I recorded.

Did you check your radar to see if it wasn't just another plane in the sky that shouldn't have been in that airspace, despite all US aircraft having to file flight plans?

Question: do fighter planes fly around with their radars on or do they not want everyone to know who they are and where they are at?

They would also be in constant contact with ATC, who will also be monitoring the airspace for them.

Half the job of a fighter plane is to NOT get shot down. If they are out training, they might be training to be at war and use the tech and processes they deploy in war. But maybe it was a joy-ride. Who knows?
The more powerful their radar, the more detectable they are. It's like car headlights - they help you see, but people can see you. Fighter jets don't want to get shot down so they don't have to turn on the same radar that a 747 would have. They use 'passive radar'. So a small object at some distance, especially flying low, might not visible on their fancy fighter-plane radar, which uses fancy systems that are designed to track fighter plane sized objects at close range. This is actually why AWACS are so important - they sit at the back and see everything using BIG ('active') radar and then pass this info on to all the fighter planes that don't want to be so visible.

Also..... flying low to the surface makes it hard for ground-based radar to detect planes, let alone little stuff like this drone/alien, so that might explain why it wasn't visible to blah, blah, alien bullshit, blah.....
